​Exactly this. Colleges require dorms for the first year or so for good reason. Get to know as many people as soon as possible. First day or so, introduce yourself to anyone and everyone. Everyone's in the same boat as you. Eventually people will stick, and you'll have a group of friends. Even if it's just one person. Rule of thumb, for the first week, do nothing alone. If you're going for food, invite your roomates. If their going out, ask where- they may invite you. Make nice with your roommates. You are literally living next to them for the rest of the year. Although it's awesome that you can now sit on your computer all day and play videogames- don't. (There's plenty of time while everyone's in class or at night. You'll find time.) Go out, find some people to hang out with.    Clubs are also an option, but honestly, I haven't stuck with anyone I met at clubs. They're a nice weekly thing, but tend to stay that way in my experience.

haha amerifats getting destroyed again, here in the UK we the standard is 1 person to each room then 5-8 seperate rooms in a flat.

I've never been in a dorm, but I remember hearing from some guy behind wallgreens that if you chop the head off of the coolest person in the dorm you assume his rank and position. If people question your authority and/or call the cops just strip down, butter yourself up, and slip n slide through the hallway. With luck, your roommates will join in and you'll be the most radical person in school. Too radical for the cops to touch. You'll also get all of the pussy, but that can backfire because you need to find some place to put a litter box.

Just remember that everyone else is freaking the fuck out too. Everyone in college (especially the freshmen) is a fuckin weirdo nerd in some way, so all you gotta do is find solace in your mutual weirdness and you'r gonna be fiiiine. Best tip imo is to leave your doors open when you do cool shit (instruments, super smash bros, dota, MTG, basically anything that isn't fapping), and eventually someone will walk by and totally be into the thing you're doing and bam friend Don't be afraid to do the flip side too - if someone's playing yugioh with his roommate or you hear a blue shell zooming for first place, knock on their door and introduce yourself and say they're a fuckin awesome person for doing the thing   Colleges try to dorm people together with similar interests so you shouldn't feel like you're too much of a weirdo for trying to make friends. Obviously, some people will freak out at the sight of a normie trying to invade their world, but you just gotta brush that off.
