He lives on in EDH, like most banned cards. Unless they're a green Titan/Primeval.

We're going back to Ravnica, of course the power level for standard needs to be high. Gotta get those weird decks like Boss-Ass Witch, Maze's End and Omnidoor Thragfire back.

    E3 2018

I'm not a big Khajit fan (Argonians best race, fight me) but Eleswyr would be a sick setting. Jungle setting, Aztec-like architecture, we would get to murder more Thalmor...

I'm convinced that every dinosaur was designed by a 5 year old. I'm okay with this. Also, here's the buy-a-box promo for Core 19: It didn't take long at all for Wizards to completely fuck it up and make a ridiculously good card be their exclusive promo. Every blue deck ever in EDH wants this.

INN-RTR standard was pretty perfect, in my opinion. It's been downhill from there ever since.

    E3 2018

Was hyped about Elder Scrolls 6, then someone pointed out that it's coming out after Skyrim in Space, which means it's almost certainly going to be next gen. So, 3 or 4 years or so. I just want it nowwwwww...

Yeah, right now red-heavy decks (I've seen mostly mono-R, or red-black) are super prevalent in Standard. Goblin Chainwhirler is basically the bane of the format right now, I believe that something like 80% of the top 32 decks in the last big standard tournament ran 4 of him. And since you need RRR to cast Chainwhirler, you basically need to go all-in on red.

    Magic The Gathering (TCG)

Wow, a non-R deck doing well in standard? That's genuinely impressive, how'd your deck do against Goblin Chainwhirler?

    Magic The Gathering (TCG)

Do you have a decklist? I'm sure we could help to tighten up your deck a little, especially if you're playing Commander or something without a rotation list.

The other guys in the cycle have a similar ability, so I'm assuming that's why they put it in.

COIN FLIP TRIBAL Also, the reprints just keep on coming. From an EDH standpoint...goddamn this set is good.

    Magic The Gathering (TCG)

Idk Raz, because look at who just got a reprint... This is the first foil printing...they're gonna be so goddamn expensive.

Oh dear God. Wizards is not fucking around with Battlebond.

I'll give you triple Innistrad draft over Commander, but for the most part I'm not a huge drafter. Triple-INN was just the best draft set of all time though. And as the guy who had a large part in escalating my group's Commander to singleton legacy...sorry.

Something that the rules text on those two legends doesn't say, but was confirmed later-cards that have "partner with X" as a mechanic are allowed to be used in tandem as commanders, similarly to the partner mechanic from Commander 2017. I think that's pretty awesome, it's a neat way to at least partially bring Partner back, even if you're forced into using a specific card for your second commander. Also Jaybee, if nobody's told you yet, play Commander. It's the best version of Magic and nobody can convince me otherwise. It also has the added bonus of making the supplemental sets like Conspiracy and yes, even Battlebond super fun. Plus you can do some...interesting stuff in Commander. I once won a game in which one of my opponents had gained infinite life and had a boardstate with a couple of hundred flying tokens.

That's battlebond, not Ravnica. Ravnica had shocklands, which are absolutely something to be excited for.

Next three sets are taking place in Ravnica. Feels really weird to be going back the the place where I started playing magic. I'm excited.

So I guess there was a big Brawl tournament on MTGO yesterday, something like 23 of the top 32 decks were Baral decks. It's been out for a week and Brawl's already been broken.

Honestly? Sell Teferi if you're not gonna use him. He's currently going for about US$35, and that is not gonna last. Sell into the hype, pick up one in a couple of months for cheap if you really want to.

So I have most of the pieces to my Slimefoot EDH deck, I think I'm waiting on like 6 or 7 cards either from Dominaria or just the mail. I goldfished it a few times just to see how the deck plays...good God. This thing just throws out Saprolings like a machine gun. I've also discovered a few accidental infinite combos, outside of the ones I deliberately put in. This thing is going to be fun as hell once I start actually playing with it. Slimefoot is lowkey one of the most powerful generals from Dominaria, I think.

Even though I don't really play too much anymore, I spent the weekend upgrading my Erebos EDH deck. It feels good to deckbuild again, there were a bunch of kind of expensive cards I couldn't afford when I first built this deck that I can get now that I'm working full time. This deck is going to be nasty once it's fully completed.
