So We All Chipped in And Bought This Stupid Mansion

Hats? I 'ate em! -
I'd count the chatroom under that. And it's mainly easier to work with. We can fix that, but funds still haven't been allocated to do so. Neither have we done so for fixing our Saloon issues. (Not to say we don't have the funds to do it, but we haven't decided where to spend the ones we do have yet or whether to save them for renewal.)

Sadly, IPB removed that feature of individual posts per page settings... I may make a poll later to determine what the standard should be.

How to Group Permissions: a Guide by Commander Rep fixed for community leaders (server admins).
-
Then why are they breaking on Nostalgia?
-
Serious Business is used more to discuss things related to the forum itself, so I may just move irrelevant things out and rename it Announcements & Discussion. The two forums will not be merged (and we haven't ever moved a topic from Current Events to Saloon IIRC). It's not a single thread. Maybe. Preferably not. I may archive it. I'll probably archive it. As much as I think Dota is overrated, no.

binary broke the themes, I think. The buttons should be visible now.
-
May be an issue with your connection. Refreshing should remove any that you see.
-
What are the extensions of the images you're trying to post?
-
I'm sure that it, just like the SPUFurb and server admin forums, will be vibrantly filled with gossip and activity that you will just be dying to see.
-
Why would you do that, binary? It looks so... unclean and hideous...
-
Rep is not going back. Now it's just one point per post with no really restrictive limits. Ultimately this will help balance out influence between new and older members. There's no skew of greater rep power now.
-
There is a limit per day, but there's no spreading of rep needed. Also, mods and admins have the same privileges with rep as they had before.
-
Unfortunately most of these problems have to be waited out. I'll see if I can help you get through them faster. Everyone got lucky. Seems to be an issue with yours... Donators != regular members. You should be able to now.
-
The font for the edit boxes was fixed, but unfortunately the color did not take.
-
The world is your oyster - look up some IPB themes and tell me what you like. The warning points carried over from the old forum but the warnings did not for whatever reason. Not sure why that would happen, screenshot it if you will.
-
Alright, so I "fixed" rep... rep is now private like it used to be. Unfortunately, it's only one point per post now since IPB doesn't scale rep, so... yeah. I also rebuilt rep to reflect this fact. I know that this will be disappointing to most of you, but it should work much better. Also, animated avatars should function again.
-
Can you screenshot it? Can't replicated it here, obviously. Intended feature of IPB, I think - reputation is part of your profile. The issue is now fixed, reupload your avatar and it should be fine. Ask ian about that. Issue's been fixed. I think it's a DNS propagation issue. They need to run an nslookup to be sure. Currently working on that. IPB isn't as easy to work with for that one. I'll look into this. binary is supposed to be working on a logo, if I remember correctly.
-
Not mandatory, we can live without it. However there are many benefits to this transition, most of which are related to the switch to new forum software which is better in the long run and some of which are not.
-
So I was having a small chat with ian. (You guys can run away now.) To put it succinctly, vBulletin sucks. We're stuck on an old version, if you guys didn't know, and it's prohibitively expensive to purchase upgrades for it. Now, for a bit cheaper we could migrate to IPB, which is supposed to be much better and a lot cheaper to upgrade in the long run. However, to do so, we'd need to raise a bit of money. I wouldn't mind pitching in a decent amount to help obtain a license, and I don't think ian would either, but we don't really have enough to cover a license by ourselves. So the question is, would you guys be interested in possibly migrating to a different forum software, and maybe even to the point where you could help with financial support?

Test URL: http://a52385.demo.invisionpower.com/ Gogogo test it.
-
Here's the feature list: http://www.invisionpower.com/features/ Look at it and see what you think... I might also put up a demo later today for testing. Well, we could do that, but we would be wasting a vBulletin license by doing that. I admit I like open source forums as well, but there are definite pros and cons for each.

Invariably things get screwed up due to a migration process, but yes, it should be mostly intact. $175 initially and $25 semiannually for upgrades. If this was Wikipedia we could have this cheesy slogan "if everyone reading this donated $5 the fundraiser would be over today" but we all know that's not exactly true or plausible.
