So I can compensate for my suddenly nonexistent FPS by upping my laptop's performance-related power options. That's a relief. Watching streams would be less awkward if I were less chatty. I keep wanting to ask them questions or just comment on what's going on...
-
It was a map-specific thing, lots of details about specific positioning and shit. I hadn't realized that Heavies were so concerned with getting good distance, although it's one of those things where hey, the mechanic works this way, therefore it should follow. Sorry if I'm not being super clear, this is a right-before-giving-up-consciousness post.

I just watched a forty-minute-long Heavy mentoring session. I don't even play Heavy. It's literally my least played class out of all nine. I don't even know.
-
Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit Shotgun/Pistol best combat Engineer. Thumbsup.
-
Soooooooooooo I tried going on a DM server in my current state of FPS. ...yeah. It was especially bad as Soldier; I don't know if it was the explosive weaponry causing more lag or everything just feels extra slow if you play a projectile class with low base move speed through low FPS, but I swear to god it was literally TF2: the projector slideshow or TF2: the digital flipbook. Scout felt a little better, although I have no idea how I managed to hit anyone with the way people were microteleporting around. Probably the other people were "only" mid-tier players, because I was only being simultaneously dominated by the entire enemy team about half or two-third of the time, rather than 99% of the time. Each of the voice actors should sing a famous song in-character. At least two of them already have songs ready and waiting for them (although Engineer's isn't famous per se); I am sure appropriate or amusing ones can be found for each of the remaining seven.

So Vhalin was an all right fellow to listen to, for the duration of the show. The chatbox was pretty gross, though. I would say "when is it ever not gross?", but people tend take that as a reason to enforce the norm and silence dissension rather than taking it as an expression of frustration and desire for change. More people should go be incredulous and critical at my pubscrub diagram, by the way.
-
It was fixed within the last two or three months. Valve considered it a glitch/exploit.
-
NineAndOut is guesting Vhalin tonight! I actually have a legit excuse to watch this stuff now (although the nature of the excuse means I have to watch them even if they decide to guest someone I find repugnant, and keep watching even if the guests say repugnant things). I will totally nose around in chat. Nobody knows. As usual.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow Scout is literally a lightclass >_> It's a combat class, but not a power class.
-
Jesus fuck Max OP nerf pls Valve I kind of want to see Vhalin's POV/commentary on that, though. I've never seen a sixes player say they enjoyed playing Engineer. //edit: Holding on to 24 ref for a friend. Note to self. //edit': Aaaand returned.

"Defense" as in defending your team, not as in defending an objective, although capacity for the one is often capacity for the other. Not to say that flanking Heavies, pocket Soldiers, Scoutsassins, or combat Engineers aren't a thing.

"Half Demoknight" has the bonus of not only irritating your lot, but also being confusingly ambiguous. Is that a Demoknight using the Half-Zatoichi or a Demoknight who's kept the grenade launcher? What about a GL/shield/Half-Zat Demo? Nobody knows.

The Itsy Bitsy Spyer is hella cute, and I wanted it ever since I started playing. I don't actually use it in any of my loadouts, though, because it clashes with the color scheme. Should I just keep it in my backpack to look at, or sell it to inch with agonizing, ever-increasing slowness toward my goal of a Strange PDA, whose price, I just learned, has increased by yet another key since I started saving? //edit: So I checked out the list of streams that comes up in the Outpost sidebar. I clicked on one, and it took me to someone who was listed as playing TF2 but actually playing DOTA. I feel like this says something.

I now possess two keys. If metal:key ratio goes down in the coming months, I'm going to kick myself. I've heard about that unknown item error, but that Spy disguise bug is pretty whack O_o Are you getting make-up drops this week? It won't make up for more than one lost week, but...

What issues were these?
-
Steel teams run tryouts? Dang, people are serious about this shit. I'm not LFT, just to clarify. My life is enough of a shambles as is. I just saw someone talking about the team creation process and dangggg.
-
You made it sound so serious. Then I went for a look-see and found out that apparently the Tumblr team were just fucking around with, like, Spycrabs or something. I want my money back.
-
I don't understand. Why would you want to make an autoclicker press space every five seconds? To prevent being kicked? You can idle on training mode and not worry about getting kicked. Or just put +jump in the console. Space doesn't accept drops, does it?

I got a het That's my second het in a month. I never get this lucky. There's a cp_hydro?
-
Isn't that a good way to get killed? Especially if they have a Pyro with them.
-
GC vs. MF9K coming up. I don't know whether to root for GC because it doesn't have b4nny (also Vhalin on Engineer lol, apparently he said he enjoys it??) or for MF9K because ukelele man (also I feel sorry for SH getting crushingly defeated in the first match).

Gotcha, thanks. Just clung to the fringe of wakefulness watching someone's match demo from preseason 4v4 last Friday, feel cheated, was promised clutch plays, only saw typical Soldier launchings of rockets. Possibly may have missed something in the killfeed from this team's designated offclasser (sigh) who is usually a Scout (sighh) due to ridiculousness of hour (yawwwwwn). Alas. Revisit at better hour and better day.

Oh? I mean, I know that kind of thing is associated with trading, I just didn't think raffling had anything to do with it. So do they expect a +rep comment in return?
-
I won a raffle and the raffler left +rep on my profile after we traded. I'm confused. Why would someone do this. I did not give them anything in return, nor did I help them with anything. Should I leave +rep on their profile back? What is the etiquette here? They thanked me for being polite. Perhaps I'm being impolite by not reciprocating with a similar profile comment. How2transaction. What.

Yeah, I see people say shit like "Just switch to power classes, build Uber in spawn with some Medics, and break the spawncamp!" First of all, that requires actual coordination involving more than one person, unless that one person is some kind of pubstomper. Second of all, why should one team be forced to stack power classes and cool their heels for 40 seconds instead of getting out there and having fun playing the objective, just so they can even get out of spawn? It's not fun, it's not edifying, it's a waste of time. Even when I'm on the team that's doing the camping, that's boring and pointless and I ask them to stop camping (not that they listen most of the time). That's equal-role modes, of course; A/D is a little different. Anyway, that's the reason I wish allclass SOAP DM was more of a thing. Sure, there's no objective to play, but at least I have a 90% chance of getting to (try and) shoot people for practice instead of getting trapped in spawn and having to switch classes if I even want the tiniest sliver of hope to claw an opening to the outside. Singlehandedly -- many single hands -- because of course nobody will coordinate.
