the issue is that shock pieces have value in that they explore some sort of meaning with how they shock people, or they aren't very good. You aren't shocked by killing people for the sake of being an edgy bastard? It's more shocking to me than an artist taking a shit and framing it. Well yeah to some extent it is shocking of course, but mostly it feels like a grating cringe-joke that got old forever ago than anything that actually explores why messed up shit is the messed up shitty way it is.
