  1. Speaking of new airblast, I can't really figure out how to use it except for pushing people into pits on the maps that allow it, which it is really good for. I was really excited about the change when I read it, but now it just feels totally useless at crowd control or setting up combos. I was expecting it to still pop people basically up, but with the victim having more control over their movement. But in most cases it just leaves the victim with full control on the ground, and it pushes them so far away that nothing can reliably follow up.

I used this glitch with owels about an hour ago. If you have the time to get up to the stupid amounts of health, it's absolutely gamebreaking. The timing with the glitch is also really bad, as you basically need a spy to backstab the heavy, and the pyro update has made every team run a ton of pyros.

I'm kind of interested in the growth rate for the health though. Why is it scaling exponentially the way it is?

Because the GRU and/or Dalokahs effects are based on proportions of your max HP, so each cycle effectively multiplies your max HP by a bit.

You use the gru to get your max health down to 100, and then immediately eat the bar, and then switch back to the gru as soon as you're done. Repeating that cycle 5 times will get you over 900 hp, but 4 times will get you over 850. :D

Did this get patched already? I tried it and it didn't work.

Im seeing cries of OP everywhere, but it might just be people adjusting to the pyro actually be a threat. I really want to get to playing it myself

Also pyro actually did have a time of being OP, when the backburner gave you +50 HP

Nah, it was tanky as fuck but that backburner didn't have airblast so it was actually pretty bad. But that was back when people generally sucked at the game and couldn't deal with Pyros well.

  5. So the more I'm playing this the more I'm loving it. All the classes are super fun to play, they all have different movement mechanics that are really fun, the combat is great, and Blitzball is so much fun once you understand how to play it. I used to talk about how I thought that TF2 needed a one-flag reverse CTF mode, like BBall but a full map, and that's exactly what Blitzball is. And damnit I was right, it's so fucking fun.

It is pretty accurate though. There's two slows, no stuns, and one shield in Lawbreakers, and lots and lots of movement. Movement is really fun in it. Spawning, rocket jumping twice, bunny hopping, then blind firing through low gravity to cross the map in a couple seconds with one of the slowest classes is a great feeling.

  7. HUDs not great, but the only good HUDs are custom HUDs (which are only supported in TF2, Quake Live, and Reflex). Every official HUD is garbage. It does at least put health in the bottom middle with a slightly bigger font, so you can kind of tell how much health you have. Still white text with no border though.

  8. It's a class based shooter with low gravity elements (parts of the maps are low grav). Very heavy emphasis on movement. Requires more aim than Overwatch, probably comparable to TF2. Less teamwork than either. Total Biscuit's video on it (though he kind of sucks at it).

Yeah all anyone has been talking about it's dismal launch numbers. I'm playing it now because I fear if I wait for it to go on sale there will be literally no one to play with it. I've only played a couple hours so far and haven't tried all the classes yet, but it's been pretty fun.
