The Daily SPUF - A blog for you! Posting submissions from subSPUFers daily!
Medicinal Warlock replied to Medic's topic in General Discussion
Also free contracts, sweet. Now I don't have to finish that Dragon Fury contract to proceed. Yesterday's article was on Valve's company structure. Today Medic complains about Twitch. And yes, Twitch chat can just fuck off and die already. -

I have a feeling it was used a lot by new players because it can burn others and it's easily the most badass-looking weapon in the game. Valve most likely just looked at the equip rate to decide whether to buff/nerf something or not. -

Oh boy, three articles today. First one is on Medic's tips for cooking chicken. Also, chicken neck is the best part of the chicken, I personally love it. Sure, it's far from meaty but it's good all the same. Next one is on some small changes and additions Medic wants on WarFrame. Lastly is about some small changes on the Daily SPUF as well as the formation of the Daily SPUF Discord! And yesterday's article wins the "Article on the most minor complain in a game ever" award for this year. -

Today's article is a collection of tips for the Plains of Eidolon! Shucks, I really want to write about the JI update. The Thermal Thruster, Gas Passer and the Second Banana are both really interesting weapons for me. Unfortunately, I have a study trip coming up. The update picked the worst possible time to come for me. Oh well. -

Yesterday's article is on the Cold Killer. And we have two articles today! The first one is on the Jungle Inferno update. The second one is about a heinous deception that is beneath even the most vile and unholy demon. How dare they lie about cosmetics?! -

It sure is the perfect time for Heavy Rushes though. Absolutely hilarious. -

The notes said "Max-health is drained while item is active", so you are not taking damage, your maximum health is dropping. So after 10 seconds, the Heavy's full health is 200HP, not 300HP. So after 10 seconds, a fully-overhealed Heavy has 300HP, not 450HP. You will be building Uber slower because it'll take less time to fully overheal a Heavy. -

Not really. Heavy's health isn't going to go from 300/300 to 250/300, it's going to be 250/250. His maximum health is the one dropping. This means that you will actually reach full overheal faster and thus build Uber slower. -

Oh fuck off, now Snipers are better than Pyros in a 1v1 close range fight? Why not just give them a Minigun as a secondary while you're at it Valve? -

I hope not. Assuming that the new Pyro primary has the same effective range as the others, using the jetpack will mean that you are sacrificing range. Although looking at the picture it seems to be firing a flaming cannonball, so it'll probably be a mid-range weapon. Aside from that, the Detonator and Scorch Shot still has stickybomb destruction, and the gas can seems to be a CC tool. The shotguns are still Pyro's only hitscan options as well. So no, I don't think the Jetpack will reach Sandvich-levels of overused. Although yeah, it completely stole the Detonator's mobility schtick. And if the afterburn on the flares got changed as well, that means the long-range harassment potential of Pyros are gone. Shucks. I don't know. We just need to see the patch notes tomorrow. I really don't want the jetpack to dominate everything else in the slot. That just gets boring. -

Tday, SilverWolf talks about his favourite Guardians, SMITE's tanks. Also, Sobek looks really familiar... -
Does anyone here play Atlas Reactor? I remembered not liking the game when it first launched due to how irritating everyone is in the trailer, but apparently it's quite OK based on reviews.

Unless it's Dustbowl. If you thought that the chokepoints aren't choke'y enough, now you can fix that. -

I have a feeling that the jetpack is a secondary. You'll be trading damage at range for mobility. Giving the Pyro a jetpack passive/fourth weapon slot will mean he has damage options at range (rather shit ones compared to everyone else's, but still) while retaining extremely easy-to-use mobility. Giving him the jetpack as a primary means he'll do very little aside from harassing people and serve as target practice for Snipers. Giving him the jetpack as a melee is just stupid. And giving him a jetpack as a mere cosmetic will mean Valve will get more eggs on their faces than the time they removed Snowplow from the EotL update. -

Breakdown of the pile of weapons. So maybe there's an Ambassador somewhere behind the weapons pile, though I don't think that is the case. -

Breakdown of paintable weapons: Scout: Soda Popper, Shortstop, Winger, Holy Mackerel Soldier: Black Box, Air Strike, Disciplinary Action Pyro: [New Flamethower], Degreaser, Detonator, Scorch Shot, Powerjack, Backscratcher Demoman: Loch' n' Load, Loose Cannon, Iron Bomber, Claidheamh Mòr, Scottish Skullcutter, Persian Persuader Imposter Heavy: Brass Beast, Tomislav, Family Business Engineer: Rescue Ranger, Jag Medic: Crusader's Crossbow, Amputator Sniper: Bazaar Bargain, Shahanshah Spy: Nothing Multi-Class: Panic Attack, Reserve Shooter First up, I see that it's now Spy's turn to get shafted. He got nothing new this patch in terms of skins. Secondly, I don't think Sniper's Lawrence of Australia weapons are his most popular weapons. Or that they are even remotely popular in the first place. -

I would've expected the Ubersaw to be there instead of the Amputator. Also why does Demo get 3 primaries and 3 melees available for painting, that's bollocks. -

The size and shape of the barrel makes me think that this'll be a Molotov Cocktail launcher or something like that. Basically a supercharged Scorch Shot. Airborne napalm strikes anyone? -

... am I the only one who thought that the part where the two caster put on a skit feels completely unnecessary and forced? You know, the part where they "panic" and ran off? -
