I'm still in my first playthrough, I do have to say I like it less than Dark Souls 1 and 3. I think the blood vial system is tedious, and from as far as I've played now all the areas are very samey; the game is a little too dark. There is also a ton if bosses with a "lol I grabbed you" close to instadeath attack that only hits because it's so slow I panicdodge twice before it actually fires. The trick weapons are fantastic though, they make for much more interesting combat than dark souls 1 and 3 where there might be 20 different halberds but one is the best one and the others are just straight up worse.

I gotta be honest I still haven't played DS 1 or 3 so I may end up agreeing with you someday, but I love the areas man, as it goes on it gets very un-samey, and the dungeons, while extremely samey, can be very fun, how far are you in your current playthough? Any bosses that have been particularly difficult?

I played about 4 to 5 hours of Bloodborne at my uncle's house. I got up to Old Yharnam with the one hunter on the ground and the one on the chaingun in the tower. I had a general idea of where I was supposed to go, but couldn't find the way to Vicar Amelia.

The actual combat system is kinda ridiculous in the fact that I'm allowed to use firearms without stamina cost, allowing me to not only use them to parry, but also use them just to stagger enemies for more free hits since stamina regen doesn't have a delay if you completely empty your stamina. The fact that I can regain health through attacks and that stamina will regen instantly if I'm not doing anything is insane and completely changes the flow of combat. That being said, it makes fighting hunters absolutely frantic. I had no difficulty fighting anything until I got to the hunter on the ground in Old Yharnam. The 1st hunter you meet I thought was pretty easy due to all the cover everywhere and was nothing more than just a tutorial to fighting hunters rather than beasts.

Jeez I never knew stamina was such an issue in the other games, those two hunters are great fun, I know a guy who's beaten it 3 times who recommends leaving the chaingun guy alive because he can reward you later, it's been said a lot but I love how much of the game isn't dictated to you whatsoever.

  2. I've almost completed Bloodborne and am now finishing the side dungeons before beating it for real, gotta say it's maybe my favourite game ever now, the combat, lore and visuals are all so satisfying, anyone else play it?

  3. Last night I dreamed that I went to a Lego shop that was run by a kindly old man, he said he'd pay good money for a rare toy called a HNK, I managed to find one online (it was a saxophone with each section coloured with a different pattern from a clown's outfit) and it turned out to be worth £15 at most, it felt like the man had scammed me for some reason.

  4. I've essentially played nothing but Bloodborne for the past year and I LOVE it, but getting back into TTT is a dream, it's honestly a perfectly designed gamemode, it feels more like playing with friends as a kid than any other online multiplayer game I've played. Are there any other multiplayer games out there that are so simple but so rewarding?

Oh shit, Scamp! It's been a while man, how're you doing?

Yo Huff! Not too bad! Real life has been demanding in many fun and less fun ways in the past two years so I've been away from gaming in general, but I'll have a lot more free time from now on so I'm gonna try to get back into it.

I didn't even know about this, that's an absolute tragedy, I'm so sorry man.

I don't know how they thought that it was okay to ship that nerf.

Honestly man, I main YER, CnD and Amby and my playstyle is now essentially ruined. Maybe I'm just getting old but the new balance updates seem consistently confusing and unnecessary to me, for the most part they just take weapons and entirely change their purpose.

TF2 is a real messy game these days, dominated by Skial servers, and my favourite ZF server is ded so I don't play it much anyway, but I don't see why Valve are putting in such radical changes so late in the game.

  7. It's sad to say but it's definitely on it's way out. The latest update doesn't feel like TF2 at all, I remember watching Meet The Spy and being fascinated with the game and the spirit it seemed to have, but that's gone now for the most part, if a version of TF2 was released that kept only the class update stuff and was otherwise vanilla, I'd play it in a heartbeat.

Zombie Fortress is still the bomb though, it's the main reason I play nowadays, but even then the userbase is dwindling, it's a shame that a lot of the problems with modern TF2 are essentially unfixable without alienating the current community.

  8. I'm finding the Pro Controller really easy to adapt to, the whole game feels really good but the online lags loads.

Also I've got a Diddy Kong Amiibo but I'm scared to open him, I dunno if it's worth it.

  9. To be honest Into The Dalek was a bit of a clunker for me, the writing just felt rushed and no scene bar one at the very end felt like it was given any more gravity over another, like I felt the same watching characters die as I did seeing the shrinking machine do its thing, I also think Capaldi has a lot of potential that's being wasted by weird writing choices.

  10. Fan O' War.

Young whippersnapper raised on the Collarduties and the Battlefields spends so much time gaming that his parents teach him a lesson by deploying him to Afghanistan to see how much he likes the real thing, he gets killed in a friendly fire incident and the film takes a sudden weird anti-American vibe from that point on.
