    Loneliness

Okay, think of Journey as a hiking path through a series of ruins, leading up to the peak of a distant mountain, which is the end point. None of the structures are labeled. There are no signs. You can only learn from what you can observe from your surroundings, and from the stories told by people at camps along the way. You may choose to bring a complete and total stranger with you, but you can only communicate by, uh... playing a flute, I guess. Choosing to go without a companion will allow you to explore at your own pace, but having someone to share the experience with is truly unforgettable. Many take the journey multiple times to share the experience with other veterans of the path, but tagging along with someone new is always a treat. tl;dr if you know anyone with a PS3, convince them to buy Journey and then play it. It's very hard to do Journey any justice by words alone. It is truly something that has to be experienced to be understood. If you really don't have any means to play it, then I suggest watching a playthrough of the game WITHOUT commentary.

Dustforce also has that sort of feeling akin to singleplayer Minecraft. Contemplative music paired with methodical gameplay. It's really hard to describe Journey without suggesting someone to just play the dang game. I'll try to think of a good analogy to detail the distinction between online and singleplayer.

The ending is really happy, but you'll be sad it ended.

    Anime General Discussion

Finished Nichijou. So goddamn melancholy. Moved on to Mushi-Shi on Netflix. Really cool anime. A bit slow, but I find it really interesting. The dub is also pretty well done.

I see your adventure chef and raise you a Cucumber Quest.
  14. Because Canada is a nice place. It's never a bad time to move to Canada. North Korea is a joke (though it's much funnier than the one I just tried to pull off). There's no way we don't have anti-nuke measures, even if they can manage to launch one.

    What'cha been playing?

...In good news related to EA, Double Fine somehow managed to snag all the rights to Brutal Legend from EA. All of them. The EA logo is absolutely nowhere to be seen in the PC version of the game. Makes me tear up. It's beautiful.
