So here's what I was thinking The main problem with Drow is that she's a squishy piece of shit, right? But her main strength is that she does shit tons of damage as long as she has the levels, even if she has no damage items whatsoever. So, way I figure it, don't be like most pubbies and say "LMAO MORE DAMAGE XD" who die when you look at them funny. Build survivability. Go helm of the dominator first, then BKB, then Satanic, then Manta Style. THEN build your straight damage items. You still have the insane level 6/11/16 damage output, while not dying to a light breeze and actually being able to take some damage. Plus, she now has an effective escape in BKB unlike Shadow Blade which is unreliable at best. Just tried it out in a bot game (unfair bots, mind you) and it worked like a charm (to the extent that it can with/against bots). Obviously there's some major discrepancies between real humans and bots but the core point is that I was still shitting out damage, while being reasonably survivable myself.
