The more I think about Mega Altaria the more I feel like it could be one of the best megas. Defensive Typing: Resistant to Water, Fire, Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Dark, and immune to Dragon. Weak to Ice, Poison, and Steel. Already that's incredible. Moves: Pixilate Hyper Voice and Roost. Enough said. On another note, I'm doing the newest Battle Competition- 6 for 10 on day 1.

Holy shit Altaria. That's awesome. Also apparently the game will outright give you a shiny Beldum with its mega stone. Edit. And Altaria gets hyper voice as an egg move. This could be a huge dark horse mega. Edit edit. Pikachu's contest costumes give it special moves. One of which is Icicle Crash. Whoa.

Two random tidbits I remember from my early pokemon days 1. In my first run of Blue I named my character NO, because I was trying to name him No. 1 and missed a button. 2. My original run of Silver, my first game, had this team: Feraligatr, Slowbro, Lanturn, Rhydon, Sneasel, Lugia. I miss that team, I might try to recreate it.

So I'm up to the Lady Boyle mission in Dishonored. How easy/hard is it to lower chaos enough for the good end? I'm currently at High.

Aegislash got bounced to Uber in a fairly close vote (62%, the requirement to ban was 60%) I'm undecided as to whether Aegislash is broken, but considering the #@$%er was everywhere, I'm glad it's no longer in OU. To quote myself from a Facebook chat (someone likened it to Megacario's banning):

    Children's Card Games

It's kind of amazing how Elemental Heroes wound up as a ludicrously dangerous archetype purely on the second wave of fusion monsters from the manga and the various polymerization cards (notably, they're the only fusion type to have a card that can fuse banished monsters). Each is "any hero + one monster of X attribute," and almost all of them are deadly. Dark: 2500, gains 100 attack for each E-Hero in the graveyard. Average. Light: 2600, gains 300 for every banished E-Hero. Considering Miracle Fusion, he typically starts with at least 3200. Also, when he goes to the graveyard, you get two banished E-Heroes back to the hand. Very, very deadly. Fire: 2600. Every time he destroys a monster, draw a card. Fairly good. Earth: 2200. When he's summoned, halve one opponent's monster's ATK and add that to his. Powerful one-turn battler, mostly a finisher in my usage. Wind: 2800. When summoned, halve all opponent's current monsters' ATK. Permanently. Big hitter with a good ability. Water: 2500, gains 500 for every other water monster on the field. The big kicker: When it leaves the field IN ANY WAY, all monsters your opponent controls are destroyed. A game-winner. It's baffling that people don't use these more.

God tier: Vaporeon Sylveon Jolteon Good tier: Espeon (note: the only reason he's not god tier is because I usually don't use it- Alakazam is a better offensive psychic and Magic Bounce isn't available in the main game until post-e4) Umbreon Flareon Meh/ew tier: Glaceon Leafeon. God, the Sinnoh ones got shafted.

Crystal Episode 3 writeup. This one better not suck like 2 did. Spoiler The lead-in this time is baddie introductions- Nephrite and Zoisite, comically bishonen generals, and Queen Beryl, who looks to be wearing a slinky dress and floor-length red hair. Also chalk-white skin. Hm. Anywho, the “Ginzuisho” silver crystal is the plot device- an object of enormous power that they’re after. Simple enough, and she tells Jadeite to focus only on killing the sailors. And in Japan, a shrine girl looks into a fire and sees something unspecified. Still enjoying the OP. It’s catchy. So shrine girl is named Rei. God, it’s weird writing Rei and not talking about giant robots. ACT 3: Rei- Sailor Mars. Answers that question. Apparently the 6 PM bus near her home has been disappearing or something. Ami and Luna seem to be taking things seriously, at least on the “What should we do next” front. Usagi just games at the arcade. OUR PROTAGONIST, EVERYONE. And right on cue, they get on the bus and see Rei. Usagi has actual hearts in her eyes. Oy. Rei just has another vision of a castle or something. And now Usagi got off the bus to stalk her. Rei sees red (literally), her crows squawk, and throws an evil-dispelling charm at Usagi, knocking her out cold. Hell of a paper slip to do that. Usagi’s just focused on her crush. Rei has two pet crows, Phobos and Deimos. The moons of Mars, subtle. Some tourists are discouraged from the shrine by Rei being odd. Also by the news that a little girl is missing. Blah blah blah bus goes missing exposition blah blah blah spirited away. More and more students vanish apparently. Usagi gives Ami one of two watches she won at the arcade. Luna thinks Rei is the princess. Usagi agrees purely on the basis of attractiveness. Again, oy. Also the watches are communicators. O HAI TUX GUY Now out of a tux, but in a normal suit. He’s a high school student. Mamoru Chiba. Usagi distracts herself from her ENORMOUS CRUSH by asking about the missing buses. Rei’s being asked to locate the missing girl by the girl’s mother. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. Also Usagi shows up to (feebly) defend her. Rei’s backstory of sorts- her spiritual visions/powers or whatnot caused her to be ostracized. Usagi offers to help find the girl. Finally she does something proactive. Except Rei declines. While looking into the fire for clues, Rei gets a vision, and chases it STRAIGHT onto the Bus of Evil, driven by Jadeite. It passes close enough for Usagi to spot Rei… and then goes through a portal. Usagi turns into a flight attendant (“My mission is to ensure the safety of passengers!” …I’ll allow it), literally catches the back of the bus, Tuxedo catches Luna as she flies out of Usagi’s arms… except Usagi’s still on the bus. And by that I mean hanging on to the back of it. Tuxedo is apparently clueless as to who Usagi is. (not in the Clark Kent manner, the “wait who is this person at all manner). Luna contacts Ami via the phone-watch. Meanwhile, Jadeite and Nephrite exposit about their plan. Kidnap people via the bus to lure out the sailors. Right on Cue, Usagi walks around the base, and the watch is helping Ami and Luna track her. After she transforms, that is. Oh goddammit the same sequ-WAIT NO IT WAS ABBREVIATED. We get Usagi’s and Ami’s simultaneously this time and in way less overall time. Now we’ve got both of them facing down Jadeite. Jadeite immediately knocks Usagi back, and freezes Ami’s attempt at a fog shroud. Okay clever. Usagi realizes the kidnappings were luring them into the trap. Spoiler Yet again, oy. Also, Rei woke up and recognizes Usagi. Huh. Rei realizes she’s not the only one here with superpowers. Usagi’s losing to Jadeite’s Ice Beam, but Rei steps in and tries to grab Jadeite. It works. Oh, I like her. The Mars symbol shows up on her head, knocks Jadeite back, and Luna tosses her the Mars pen. Ami and Usagi both have their arms covered in ice, meanwhile… Mars Power Make Up Fiery. As in, her new uniform materializes out of fire. Also, heels. Nice. “In the name of Mars, I will chastise you.” Rei figures it out pretty quick. More importantly, she has fire abilities and cancels out the ice. Usagi’s boomerang stuns Jadeite long enough for Rei to blast him with an exorcism tag. He does escape, admittedly, but still. Not bad. Back at the shrine, the little girl is okay, and now the team has three people. Most importantly, the new member has actual combat ability. Meanwhile at an airport, some suited guy is carrying a treasure chest and surrounded by bodyguards and media. Gee, I wonder. The post-episode preview is something about a masquerade dance party. Guess we’re not getting all five in a row. *crosses fingers* Okay, that one was good. The show’s finally picking up. I'll keep doing these writeups just because it's actually fun to do.
