You know we were having such a great discussion until you pointed that out.Whats next? Are we going to degenerate into racial insults and stereotyping?

Your argument is flawed and you should feel bad.Come back when you make a better argument.

Eventually one pokemon will run out of moves and begin to struggle.Smart hacked spiritomb users will have the following movepool:- Taunt (To prevent you from setting up traps/effects/annoying things)- Some damaging move that causes burn or poison- Some dark type attack for STAB (spiritomb's special attack is not that great)- Some filler moveOtherwise, most strategies listed above will easily kill a hacked wondertomb (given your walls hold out). I forgot to mention weather effects: Hail and Sandstorm will eventually whittle down a Spiritomb. It helps if the pokemon that uses it has increased evasion in either weather for maximum trollage.

The one thing Nintendo did wrong was battling on the wi-fi.On behalf of the pokemon community I appologise for any idiots out there with hacked Wondertombs/Wondereyes.Thankfully, as I have discovered, they can still be destroyed, by using TACTICS (also cementing the ideal that having a team of only sweepers is not enough):- Toxic (Spiritomb and Sableye are not immune to poison and can be stalled to death with toxic)- Confuse (Harder to pull off because confusion damage is so pitiful)- Burn (Using Will-o-Wisp you can induce burn and stall them to death)- Destiny Bond (If spiritomb kills the pokemon that uses this move, spiritomb dies too)- Gastro Acid (Removes the enemy's ability and makes them killable)- Entrainment (Changes the enemy's ability and makes them killable)- Roleplay (Two can play this game)- Any pokemon with Trace (Two can play the immunity game)- Any pokemon with Pressure and a recovery move (Stall spiritomb until it runs out of PP)- Any pokemon with Mould Breaker (Pokemon with mould breaker ignore special abilities and deal damage as normal)- Set up a spike/stealthrock/toxic spike/leech seed layer (Kill the enemy slowly)Of course, if the enemy is using SIX Spiritombs...

I never said CoD wasn't designed with competition in mind. Also, in pokemon competitions hacked pokemons are disallowed.
-
But the game is designed with competition in mind. EV training and IV stats and all that crazy jazz. Natures which boost some stats at the behest of others. I mean pokemon battling man. The very nature of pokemon gaming is competitive from the start.Yes, your average kid is not aware of these things. Yes, he probably doesn't care. But still, these mechanics exist for a reason. It is unlike TF2 which was designed for competition as an afterthought.Edit: What % of the TF2 and CoD population play competitively?
-
Where did you get this 99.9 statistic? From an actual source or from your own interpretation of the game? You don't get a true feel of battle unless you fight against a Human because 99.9% of the computer AI trainers are terrible. The competitive scene in Pokemon is very strong you know. Competitions exist. There are tiers for Uber/Overused/Underused/whatever which categorises each pokemon in the game depending on their movepools and statistics."He's fire, shoot water" doesn't always work: Is the fire pokemon's defence physically or specially superior? What is the probability of him switching out and using a water absorb mon? Will my attack miss and leave me open for a counter-attack? What item is the enemy carrying? Its down to tactics. Watch this video of some guy with level 1 mons exploiting the terrible computer AI:

Not all the same. You have some mons that are either: Sweepers Mons that focus on dealing heavy damage: - Physical Sweepers - Special Sweepers - Mixed Sweeprs Walls Mons designed to resist sweepers - Physical - Special - Mixed Support Mons that use variety of skills and abilities to help you win - Spikes/Stealth Rock/Toxic Spikes - Rapid Spinners - Baton Passers - Status eliminators - Healers Not every attack is simply a change in type/damage. Some attacks have additional effects, such as poison, confuse, paralize, flinch. Some moves have priority over others, and some are low priority but do heavy damage. Its designed specifically so that pokemon is a chess game of prediction and strategy. Choosing all 6 mons that are heavy physical sweepers is not as reliable as having a well balanced team of support/wall/attack. The same cannot be said for CoD which is designed to be newbie friendly.

Oh, you paid for the yearly subscription for WoW? I hear many people say Diablo 3 is becoming more "WoW". As someone who hasn't played wow before could you tell me if this is the case?

I guess Heaven's electricity bills must be pretty expensive for him to charge you so much to resurrect your mercenary.

You forget that Pokemon is marketed towards kids and CoD is supposed to be marketed to young adults. The restriction on gaming cartridge means the marketing strategy of creating two versions is sound: You buy one version and your friends buy the other (or however it works) to encourage trading, which is essentially the multiplayer equivalent of CoD.I don't think its fair to criticize Pokemon when it has actually been expanding on gameplay mechanics (actually improving over the years) yet CoD gameplay manages to stay the same (point n' shoot n' grenade). However much we decry them for killing the gaming industry, you can't blame people for enjoying them. Both franchises are major money makers and I don't see the best selling FPS game in the world killing any market for the time being.

I'm stuck at the bloody Megaman Dragon.

There are several ways to interpret "Monster Hunter".1. You are a guy that hunts monster. I.e. a Monster Hunter2. You are a guy that hunts endlessly to fufill his need of greed, becoming a metaphorical "monster" hunter.I think the whole progression from small mons to huge ass mons whilst farming for items is what captures the Japanese/Asian crowd to it. Also, the perfect timing required to kill some monsters is what makes it challenging. Lack of solid story and the tediousness of it all probably killed it for the Western crowd, didn't it?

As if the first pokemon game didn't come out with completely contrived pokemon with crazy designs.See: Voltorb (LOL A POKEBALL SO ORIGINAL)Muk (haha slime)Jynx (blackface is so passé)Not to mention the stupid Special Attack stat, making Psychic a freaking powerhouse type in Gen I.You also have to remember that with each generation change, a huge improvement was made on the pokemon gameplay. You might not know it but huge ass changes were made (Dark type to deal with the IMBA psychic, attacks split into physical and special, introduction of pokemon abilities, reusable TMs GOD YES)The differences in CoD can basically be summed down to: Different Map, New Guns, Some Gamplay Changes (Killstreak, Deathstreak), Some new Game Modes, Pay for Map Pack, That's all folks!

Dunno where to post this, hurr.

Its acting up for mine too.Changed it a zillion times, still doesn't work. -
Of course they use the same type of attacks, each one of them shares the same element electric! I'd like to add that those three aren't used much in competitive battling because of their shallow stats and movepools.Besides, is the fact that they look somewhat the same even matter? The whole point of pokemon is catching and training mons you like (and using them in battles vs friends or whatever).

I don't understand this "same damn game" complaint. Why change a tried and tested working formula? By all means refine and modify it to be more effective and streamlined but if you're going to change the entire way the game works every time then what's the point? Aren't the fans drawn into the gameplay mechanics that they are familiar with?
-
Good luck with that. People in China get around through connections and networking. If you have neither you will not survive, or get very far.

Which is to say the AK47 is a "skin" of the M4A1. They're both guns, they both shoot bullets. What's the difference? The three pokemon you have identified here are Pikachu, Pachisiru and Emolga respectively (from left to right), which I shall explain their differences: Pikachu is an electric mouse. Pachisiru is an electric squirrel. Emolga is a flying electric squirrel. Each one might look similar (AK47 and M4A1) but to someone who knows what it is they function absolutely differently. Please don't say they're "skins". It probably makes me just as mad as if someone told a gun-nut that the AK47 is a "skin" of the M4A1. You might not have noticed that the pokemon franchise has indeed released a multitude of non-pokemon catching games such as pokemon snap, dungeon, pinball and so on.

If anyone can find a server with a working replay function, let me know. I have an idea of my own, in which you guys may participate if you so wish.
-
I gave up playing Survival Multiplayer because:1. Closest servers to me have very bad lag.2. Asian servers either empty or filled with undesirable people.

I hate their fucking website. Each link opens up a new fucking window. FUCK! Bloody annoying badly coded shit. Also, Nanoworlder, the reason I stopped playing this game was because the installer was bundled with all this malware fucking bullshit that discreetly installs some crazy torrenting client crap. SHIT! FUCK.Seriously, not fucking WORTH your time. DID I MENTION I HATE THIS GAME? TITS.

...what?They added a whole bunch of new pokemon in Black and White. Its a completely new generation with new animations, abilities, mechanics and re-usable TMs. Saying Gold/Silver is to CoD as Black/White is to CoD2/3/BLops is a complete understatement. That isn't to say Black/White isn't without its flaws as it was developed some time before Gold/Silver. We didn't get following mons, L trigger A shortcut, and some minor things I can't quite remember.

Does anybody have a replay that isn't borked?Every time I try to record it pops up with some crazy entity error.
