Hello guys, I've had a brilliant idea for a mod in Minecraft that will be quite an interesting experience for seasoned players if it ever gets made. Basically, I stripped down Hardcore to it's bare essentials: Survival without permanent death. What I have developed is a mode that amplifies the core aspects of Minecraft: Survival, competitiveness in environmental survival, and sating your needs. What this mod will add, and increase: Mobs + Mob Changes - Passive mobs will now reproduce in the wild, and normal spawning procedures will be changed to force players to conserve food sources - Hostile mobs will not actively seek you out, unless they are a specific type (for example, zombies, creepers, any mob that seems it would directly need to kill you), and will now attack passive mobs - Mobs can die of old age, dropping their items, but giving no experience - Villagers can be found in the wild, will wield weapons and possibly attack if damaged, and will destroy the environment for resources - Tameable animals will now drop food, along with sheep, and be hostile to players if wild, and will be harder to tame, growing more tame via breeding (i.e. real life domestication) - Enderman will rarely spawn, along with other supernatural mobs - Cows may attack the player, along with other wild animals via ramming/scratching - Insects will be added, and can spawn in forest, swamp, and desert biomes (pretty much anywhere) - Passive mobs now attack the player upon being hit - Mobs now have realistic attack programming and new attack animations! - Spawn rates of aggressive mobs around villages are decreased - Zombies now go into a "frenzy mode" when around villagers, greatly increasing speed and attack 1.5x per each Villager Combat and Tools - Bows may fail to operate, and may have their strings randomly break - Swords may also break upon hit of a block, along with other tools (primarily found in wooden and stone tools) - Tools may dent or rust (Only possible with metals, iron has an increased chance of both), which decreases efficiency and damage - More armor will be added, able to be gained via killing animals (sheep skin armor, wolf skin, etc.) - You can bleed if damaged enough, or cut - Armor may wear down the user with bulk, decreasing speed - Player may no longer spawn Iron Golems or Snow Golems - Frequent movement while aiming bows creates "shaking", decreasing aim Structures and World - Villages will be updated with new mobs, Witches will spawn close by, and will spawn beds in houses, anvils in blacksmiths' homes, potions of instant health and books in churches, etc. - World generation and expanse is limited to a short distance, forcing you to not sprawl constantly - Adds possible new ores, and removes functionality of redstone and lapiz - Ores will have increased rareness - Player can no longer naturally construct Enchantment Tables and other magical items, but will have to find them in Strongholds or in Village Churches Mechanics and General Additions - Bone meal will have a decreased effect, and crops will be damaged via rain, drought, etc. - Uncooked meat will cause hunger or a weaker version of poison if left uneaten in a minute of gameplay - Flowers may be used for food, depending on species - Leaves and flowers may be used in brewing stands to create tea - Thirst bars, with milk no longer curing potion effects - Crippling of legs and arms via heavy damage - Addition of temperature bar which fluctuates based on biome - Wool may now be used to layer leather armor as to decrease the lowering of temperature bar - Beds will now awake you at random times, and will not kill all mobs - Addition of temperature borne illness, severe damage increasements, and infection-prone wounds - Time is now real time based on time zone of player or server - Hunger bar will now rapidly drain without warrant, sort of a permanent Hunger status effect in which you have to take care of quickly - Crafting recipes yield less items, i.e. You will only get 1 torch from it's crafting recipe - To activate certain items, you must have another item, for example, to light a torch you need flint and steel - You may get unobtainable status effects from certain conditions (Mining Fatigue from overlooked mining, blindness or nausea from potion drinking or drinking unverified water, etc.) - You must purify water by putting it in a furnace to destroy bacteria - Potions may also give you other random effects if not certain (i.e. Awkward Potions can grant Weakness, etc) This is all I have so far, if you have any other ideas of what could work, PLEASE tell me in your posts! Originally I wrote that in the sense that continents would stop after a while and biomes would sort of end off in a massive vertical slant like a cubic Earth.
