  1. Now the space stage is confusing. The interface is everywhere, you can barely know what to do or where to go, the upgrades cost too much and making colonies is so annoying that sometimes you have to spend millions to make the planet atmosphere.

Let me give you a couple hints here. The key to this stage is to exploit the spice of the planets as much as possible. I recommend finding an alien homeworld that makes either pink, purple, or green spice, as these are the most valuable kinds, and take it over.

Once you do that, use the massive amounts of the spice you get from these planets, and start going around different planets, finding out which one will give you the most bang for your buck.

Once you got a reliable money income from doing this, you're pretty much unstoppable as you can buy massive amounts of weapons/upgrades/terriforming tools.

  2. I have to agree. I love Spore, and really wish more people like it, and when finally someone makes a video for a wider audience, it just happens that they make a lot of dumb "lol a penis" jokes.

Maybe I'm being a little too serious here, but it really does make me a bit upset.

  3. A lot of people complain about Spore for not living up to its promises, and for sacrificing "science" for cutesy stuff. These are valid points.

However, I used to play Spore all the time, and I loved it, mostly, and I think its worth a play. If you pirate it, and you think its fun, you may want to go and buy it.

  4. Thanks for the info guys. I assume this doesn't apply to easy yet, but if I understand it right the AIs just get free starting shit at a certain difficulty level? That's kind of cheap.

On Diety, AI starts off with several techs, an army, gold and production bonuses, and several settlers. I may be missing more.

Its the only way they really can make the game harder, since they can't improve the AI.

  5. You know, for all the shit Gandhi gets, I've never actually had any problems with him.

But to also be fair, I don't think I've ever seen him make it to the atomic era.

  6.

-Great Library, Petra and Hanging Gardens are (in my opinion) the absolute BEST wonders to get, especially early game.  If you're doing levels 1-4, and sometimes 5, you can and should be trying to go for these.  I almost always beeline writing so that I can rush a Library-the science bonus it gives you is amazing, and the free tech is great too.

I actually don't agree with the Great Library on higher difficulties. Civilizations will start with Pottery after a certain difficulty level and have a production boost, meaning that you are pretty much guaranteed to miss out on the Library, which means you've just wasted valuable time that you could have spent making units or improvements or workers.
