  1. My last name is pronounced and almost spelled like an actual word. Of course, it is most commonly spelled incorrectly.

Those that do spell it correctly tend to get a kick out of referring to me by it. Pretty much every teacher I've ever had made a point of always calling me "Mr. Frantik" which admittedly isn't horrible. All because my immigrating Eastern European ancestors figured their name, which has since been lost to time, was too hard for America. Not sure why they settled like they did, but, thanks immigration?

long shot but a request to change background color of spoilers on SPUFSpooky and SPUFOrange to not be white so you can actually read what's there.

    Ditto for the reply box.

  3. I've always held Telltale in moderate regard because, while they did get to show off the BTTF franchise in a video game, they did it in such a lackluster and forgettable way that it was... well, lackluster and forgettable. Definitely not bad enough to wish any sort of ill on the company, just ultimately bland.

Been meaning to play Tales from the Borderlands and Guardians, just haven't gotten around to it. Guess maybe I should.

Thing is I liked the simplicity of Minecraft but now it all feels so crowded. Kinda wish I could just pick and choose what I want. Skeletons, Zombies, Spiders and Creepers rather than all the dumb reskin mobs, keep the corals because oceans were boring but get rid of the billion food types, potions and stupid enemies.

And the End is still super shitty.

How receptive is New Minecraft to modding? I would assume that could be done that way, but I'm not actually sure and wouldn't know where to start.

New Hollow Knight DLC is insane hard. And apparently the Hat In Time DLC will also be insane hard.

Please I just want to play baby games.

At least I'm looking out for the Hornet DLC/standalone game.

As I've gotten older I've realized how little I like hard-for-the-sake-of-hard games. I mean, I never really liked stuff like Super Meat Boy, but in general I would push myself into playing the hardest modes because I figured people would think I wasn't trying hard enough. But there came a point where I just said "wait, I'm playing this game to have dumb escapist fun. Why am I frustrating myself over and over just to say I did it?" and I let myself play average-level difficulty. I understand the fun derived from challenge, don't get me wrong, but there are times where I just want to be a god amongst men. Also, in games like Civilization, the computer always cheats and that's not actual challenge. :p:

I still play smash handicapped with all 9s bots though.

  6. I still want Phoenix Wright, with palette swaps for the other attorneys/prosecutors. Alternately, make an echo for Edgeworth (or Apollo, I guess).

Dream team would be Phoenix Wright/Maya (probably similar to the way Robin's final smash worked, with a cut-in), with appropriate color swaps for other combos. If we take the standard 7 swaps in Smash: Edgeworth/Faraday, Gumshoe (or Von Karma)/Franziska, Apollo/Trucy, Godot/Mia, Klavier/Ema, Blackquill/Athena, and Sahdmadhi/Rayfa (if you want to pull the latest game in). In my mind it makes sense - Ace Attorney has almost exclusively been on Nintendo handhelds and Capcom's already on board. Sure, Wright's not really a fighter, but it's not unprecedented, and he's been in a fighting game before.

Honorable mention would be to Layton.

  7. My steam hasn't updated yet and it's bugging me to update it. I think I'm gonna hold off based on what I'm seeing here.

Finally got around to finishing ME Andromeda. The ending was surprisingly intense, if a little... grandiose. But, if ME3 had ended similarly, with a similar boss fight, it'd have been amazing.

Final verdict? MEA was okay. Honestly, the main problem I had with MEA was that when I played, it made me want to play a better Mass Effect game. The combat was solid (if easy), the story was... well, it had a story, and I quite like exploration sims so I didn't mind that aspect. I just didn't connect with the game as a whole as well as I did with the other 3 (2 especially, though 1 gets credit for the lore and worldbuilding). Also, no quarian waifu so 0/10 into the bin it goes.

My current favorite theory about the game, though, is that its over-the-top-ness and same-but-different feel makes it seem like Mass Effect Andromeda isn't a canonical continuation of the series as an offshoot but instead an in-universe fiction, presented in form of video game or tv series or whatnot. It doesn't perfectly fit, especially with certain references, but it does present a more believable approach than the current "this is what happens to the universe 600 years later."

I have always though this word meant "unhappy" or "displeased" because the sounds it has tend toward negative. I only found out a few years ago it means exactly the opposite.

I want to be excited about Fallout Shelter 99 but the online aspect is reeeeeeeally tempering any excitement.

Sorry, not sorry. Platinum was a massive drag and I gave up on playing after the 4th gym.

You too? I made it further than that, but I never finished the game because it just felt so slow. I don't even remember the "story" or progression, and while I'm usually great about game maps I remember absolutely nothing. I can draw Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn from memory easily. Sinnoh? No clue. I think there was a giant mountain in the middle? HG/SS was the best game in the generation and it was a damn remake.

Eevee/Pikachu looks pretty. Not sure how thrilled I am about the PoGo mechanics, or the wisdom of going full-nostalgia with the first 151. Also, I wonder if they're gonna go with actual cries instead of the chipset sounds for the first time, since Eevee has a voice (and the PokeBall+ is gonna make noises).

Probably going to finally convince me to buy a Switch though, so that's something.

Never paid much attention to the Knights (and I love talking about it's a money laundering conspiracy that they've made it this far cuz it makes people huff about how it's an underdog story) but I'm glad they won. Hope they take it home cuz that'd be insane.

This whole city is a money laundering conspiracy theory (actually for real though) so they fit right in.

I'm from Pittsburgh so I've always supported the Penguins, so having Fleury (ex-Pen goaltender) face off against the Caps (Pens rivals) is goddamn poetry.
