Started reading A Centaur's Life again in honor of the anime. I wonder if the anime is going to include the part about Holocaust concentration camps. EDIT: Upon looking at reviews, the actually did it. The madmen.

Capcom should just sell their IPs to Monolift Soft. The _____ X _____ games have done more to develop most of Capcom's properties than Capcom itself has done in the last ten years.

Between the original trouble with the budget, the revival following belated fan interest, the extreme merchandising following that revival and the involvement of Mine Yoshizaki, this was already almost a Gundam production. But it's not truly a Gundam production until the director either gets into drama with the producers and/or just generally goes off the deep end.

There was a mandatory IT today meeting to unveil a new web app and offer training for it. When they asked us to login, about the third of people there got a blank page. Someone asked "are there browser compatibility issues with this?" The response: "Oh no, it works fine with everything. It's just that some things don't display properly with Internet Explorer, and sometimes pages don't display at all if you use Firefox or its offshots. But we've seen very few errors when you load it in Chrome." (Once I finally saw it the usability and general design of the site were shit too.)

There's a message board that I've posted on for a very long time, though now it's entirely out of morbid curiosity. It used to be pretty good, but the moderators have become more and more idiotic as time goes on. Usually when this happens it's because the mods go all in for one ideology or another (even if that ideology is something inconsequential like "XBOX is the best console" or "flat is justice") and abuse their moderator powers to ban everyone not in lockstep with them, and then recruit new moderators who do the same thing. But that doesn't seem to be what is happening on that forum. Rather, the moderators seem to be under the impression that flame wars would just stop if they ban enough terms people are using, so they can't be mean to each other. Of course, as anyone with any experience on the internet would expect all this leads to is people using new and creative insults off the forbidden lists, but the mods have a solution for that too: if people are still in toxic debates, add more words to the forbidden lists. This does seem to be done with the intent of being even handed. For example, in the political forums you can not only get infractions for saying SJW, commie, leftard, moonbat, leftist, or progressive, but also for saying cuck,servative zealot, teabagger, Trumptard, regressive, rightest or conservative. (I realize that some of these might not sound like insults, but when you ban the obvious insults people will start using basic descriptive terms as insults, and so they end up being infraction-worthy). They also have the bizarre policy of very rarely handing out permabans, preferring one-month bans instead. This leads to a sort of anti-mutually assured destruction situation in debates, since you know that your opponents are going to report you for trivial reasons (usually because you just came off a temp ban where that happened) and that if they manage to get you banned they will take advantage of your absence to push their position hard. Because of this, you don't really have a choice but to report them as well. I imagine that this is part of why the mods got so crazy, I can't even imagine how many reports they have to go through. But the reports still work and as such the situation perpetuates itself. Anyway, I just got tempban for posting a smiley face. The message I got literally just says that I posted a smiley face and that the mods determined after careful review of my post that this was against the rules. Going through the rules (which is difficult because they are spread out among announcements in many subforums) it does turn out that they made an explicit rule saying that posting a smiley face can lead to an infraction at the discretion of the moderators.

You just can't appreciate fine humor based on recursive algorithms.

Reminds me of the time that Wizards realized that Homelands sucked and so forced all tournament decks to use cards from each legal format. This led to Serrated Arrows as getting a reputation as a card that used to be really good, but now isn't that great, due to it showing up in so many tournament decks. In truth, it was literally one of the few cards in the entire set that didn't completely suck (with Merchant Scroll being another notable outlier, astonishingly actually being good, but not everyone ran blue).

Why did I only just learn that Mine Yoshizaki was the concept artist for Kemono Friends. Is it because concept art never looks right in 3D.

Apparently the new shadowverse leaders are going to appear as legendary drops in the new expansion, and it will be impossible to either craft them or buy them (with either real or in-game currency). That seems like it was crafted as a way to optimally piss everyone off.

I want Wizards to reprint Jackal Pup. With the original art. Just to show how out of place in both respects it is in modern magic. Also the original jackal is pretty cute.
