That's a legitimately interesting page.

But they are losing a measurable cost ($10 for the tickets, $20 for the DVD, whatevah) that is a required charge before viewing. In the case of downloading a movie, you are circumventing the legal channels of acquiring that entertainment, i.e. exchanging money with a retailer to watch it. With Youtube, there is no such thing. The content is free and is not protected under copyright laws except for a small clause that frowns upon plagiarizing work or whatever, but there's no real penalty for it.

Because thepiratebay torrents things that ARE protected under laws and things, like games, movies, books, and the like. Not Youtube videos of a man pissing in a jar and drinking it.

But it isn't a crime. It's like this, if your friend makes a shitty Flash video and tries to charge you $5 for watching it, does that mean you have to pay to watch it? No, because he's not protected by jack all. Same for your average Youtube "artist".

Wrong again. The content is free. They don't make you pay anything. Hell, they even allow video uploaders to turn off ads on their videos last I checked. Watching the ads on Youtube is voluntarily donating to them, not paying for a service.

Wrong. The movie itself costs money to view, either from buying the DVD or paying the entrance price to the theater. The movie is not free.

Except you're not stealing from them. You're denying them revenue from the service they provide for free. It is not the same thing.
