I'm Already Sick of Christmas
Rynjin replied to Just a Gigolo's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
Well unless you completely suck at keeping plants alive it's not a problem. -
Can't we just say that "second and third wave feminism" are something else? Feminazism? Amazonianism? Dumbass-college-kids-one-month-into-women's-studies-class-and-their-castrated-boyfriends-ism? Because feminism is giving feminism a bad name right now.
-
This'll be one of the few times I disagree with ya. True feminism IS about equality. Actual equality. Equal pay, equal opportunities, yes, but also with all the downsides that come from being equal to a male (no more of this double standard of abuse bullshit).

Sorry if this comes a little late, I just heard about it today. You know, I haven't flipped to that channel in a while, mostly because DirecTV doesn't have it any more, but there was a time I watched X-Play religiously and Attack of the Show pretty often. They're ending some time this month and I can't help but feel kinda sad. I know I haven't watched any of it in about 3 years, and I probably wouldn't like it anyway considering Adam Sessler, Kevin Pereira, and Olivia Munn are gone, but those shows were a pretty big part of my middle school/early high school years and I'm sorry to see them go. It was bad enough that they started running Cops, Cheaters, and Ninja Warrior 3/4 of the day but when those shows came on it was a good time to settle in for entertainment. And to add insult to injury, not only are they axing what are basically the only reason for the channel's existence, they're completely remaking the channel as "upscale entertainment for men" or some bull honky. Does anyone else care? Am I just blinded by nostalgia goggles or something? *Sigh* Ah well. I'm making sure to try and find the farewell episodes online when they air, if only to see the whole cast together.

Sweet. Lookin' forward to it. =)

Well, back in the long ago days of...2004-2005 (really before that, but that was when I started watching. Before 2003 they were TechTV I believe), G4 was a gamer-centric Tv station, with X-Play (a comedy sketch/game review show) and Attack of the Show (a tech/"geek culture" oriented show) as their flagship. X-Play was hosted by Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb, and it was good and led to some hilarious reviews and sketches. X-Play was basically the videogame reviews on That Guy With The Glasses before TGWTG was ever thought of. And funnier. Attack of the Show was hosted by Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn. Honestly the only real reason to watch it was the dynamic chemistry between the two and Olivia's boobies. The show itself was fairly dull (but it had some great moments). Then, suddenly, G4 went full retard, They started showing Cops and Cheaters in place of things like Code Monkey, Arena (hosted by Wil Wheaton of all people), Judgement Day (the more serious review show), and that one show that did the hilarious MMO soap opera type sketch thingy. They pushed Ninja Warrior like it was going out of style. But for a while, X-Play and AotS remained the one good thing on the station. The G4 decided "Wait. Full retard wasn't enough retard." and they axed the sketch comedy bits of X-Play and turned it into your generic televised IGN review show. Then within a few months of each other (about a year after this switch), Adam Sessler, Olivia Munn (who's on The Newsroom now, I suggest watching that it's surprisingly good), and Kevin Pereira all quit. So basically the station had the shows...but not the people and things that made them worth watching. And then DirecTV dropped them. And now G4 sucks and I hate them for making the shows suck.

I dunno. I think both.

That's not feminism. Feminism is reasonable and intelligent, that's just some random 20 year old fucktards chanting on the side of the road.
-
This. Add Warehouse 13 to the list too. They actually take place in the same universe so there's a couple of crossovers.
-
NBC is picking up Ninja Warrior, don't worry. You like Superjail, your opinion doesn't matter.
-
Don't fucking bother. Apparently 1 in 3 people can't play Saint's Row: The Third and I doubt the other games are working much better at the moment. Steam can suck my hairy white nuts after this shit.

Alex' post greatly confused me on a first read through because I haven't written any books yet.

You'd think by now, with all the Castiel pics I post on this site people would've picked up that I like Supernatural Oh wait it's Splosion nevermind. New is forgiven. And the Dresden Files TV series is okay. It has nothing to do with the series AT ALL beyond like episode 1, but it's okay. And the guy who plays Dresden is the cop on Arrow now so that's cool. But also this: Though though I'd suggest the Witches stories instead of Mort. ALL of the Night Watch/Vimes novels are awesome, generally the best ones of the series. If you're gonna read any of 'em, read those. Especially the 4th (3rd?) one, Thud! Thud! is ♥♥♥♥ing amazing.

Read the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, the Wheel of Time series by the late Robert Jordan (picked up by Brandon Sanderson), and the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. Why? Dresden Files has wizard private eyes and the 3 billy goats gruff are insanely powerful Fey who are ripped like Arnold Schwarzenegger was back in the day. 'Nuff said. The Wheel of Time is great, bar books 5-7 (which are merely okay), it's really hard to explain but the 14th and final book is comin' out sometime soon so now's the perfect time to catch up. There were only going to be 12 (because Wheel of TIME) but the 12th became thick enough to break a cat's spine before he was even done with the outline. Then Robert Jordan died and Brandon Sanderson took over using that fucktastically huge outline and they've gotten even better because we get RJ's amazing ideas and world building techique combined with BS's (lol) much more flowy writing style. And the Mistborn trilogy is awesome because it basically stars a pair of individuals who make Magneto look like a fucking pussy and a supporting cast of awesome in a really interesting world. Mistborn are individuals who, to make things short, have pretty much completely eradicated the use of metal ANYTHING among the nobility because they can kill you from across the room with your shirt buttons. And that's one of 7 uses for their powers.

Pfffbbblp I dunno. Shadow of the Colossus, Portal, Wind Waker, Bioshock are all damn good games. Though why everyone touts Mass Effect above the sheer amazingocity that was Dragon Age:Origins is beyond me. I had to play this for Design Tools I.

My two sense (common that is). 1.) Extremists suck, period. 2.) O'Malley's right, don't judge a country by its extremists. 3.) Fairly certain Gigolo's right about the whole last half of his most recent post. 4.) Kony is an issue where he lives. He's also not at all relevant to this discussion. -

Simon, that's a tradition (at least here in yon South) of buying/cutting the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and then decorating it then. It stands to reason that for families who decorate the yard/house that would be when they would do it too. I wouldn't know, I've never decorated the yard before. -
Hi I'm Rynjin. I think you already know me but in case I'm mistaken I'm that asshole who enjoys starting arguments because I find it fun.
