It's also a great way to ease them into a first person shooter. The first person perspective disorients a lot of people who aren't used to it, particularly when guns get involved. So Portal is a good way to learn how to look around properly, spacial awareness, how to move and shoot at the same time, all with minimal amount of things shooting at you. Puzzle games also tend t be pretty common on mobile, so they're probably used to puzzle solving if nothing else. Plus, you know, they're fun. I'd suggest saving Left For Dead for AFTER they're used to FPS controls because there's a good chance even on Easy they could get frustrated and quit after the first dozen times a Hunter or Smoker nails them from outside their range of vision. If they had an older console I'd suggest an action platformer like Jak and Daxter, but that genre is dead everywhere else and it makes me sad.

From what I've seen of the gameplay (about 2 and a half hours worth, since I watched TFS' stream of it) it's great if you want a "zen game", like single player Minecraft where you just wander around and do stuff. It's not a deep, complex gaming experience at all though. There are plans to add base building, motherships, and IIRC sentient races in larger numbers so you can be a better space pirate, but as of now, if you're not liking the simple Explore-Mine-Sell-Explore cycle, refund it.

So what I gathered from that video is the villains of Alola are gangsta rappers, and there's a Pokemon that Digivolves? Also Alolan Meowth looks more like what the Japanese interpretation of sassy gay men is. Look at Leeron.

I think the sandcastle is fucking adorable. Plus I think Ghost/Ground is a new typing, so that's neat at least.

All the dreams I remember are like this, I don't know why. They also tend to make me cry a lot.

So I had a multi-part dream. Every time I woke up and went back to sleep, it was the same characters and roughly the same events. First part was about a pair of redneck swamp dwellers (of which I was one...I think?) just farting about and fishing (but the reel was attached to a hole in my ankle for some reason). This part is the fuzziest...I'm not sure if it was a distinct part, or just something my character remembered doing. Second part, they realize they need to make some money, and turns out they're criminals. So a comedic heist ensues. They rob the bank with nobody the wiser, and escape through the sewers, but get lost and don't know where they are. My partner crawls out on the street and whoops, it was right in front of the police station. He gets arrested. Third part, I go to visit him at this rehabilitation center he was sent to, because for some reason he didn't go to prison. He ended up in some kind of low security asylum thing that was really run down and wasn't much more than a really nasty looking yard (the pond was BLACK) and a room with a bunch of pews, so I guess they converted it from a church and just told all the crazy people to sit down and shut up. Well, my partner decides to stay (even though it would be easy to escape with the super platforming abilities we apparently had), he's done with his life of crime. I protest, and the psychiatrist catches me out on something I say, and I get afraid she'll call the cops. I somehow tangle myself in my own fishing wire (I still had a rod and reel, and yes the reel was still attached to my ankle). I cut myself loose with a pair of conveniently placed scissors just in time for her to tell me she won't call the cops if I come to her sessions and work out my issues. So I spill the beans that I don't know HOW to do anything besides fish and rob people. Dad was a factory worker, and he died young, and I never picked up any skills to fit into normal society what with living alone in a swamp my whole life. Character breaks down in tears he never shed when his dad died, I wake up with one leaking out of my left eye, dream over.

Well I'll tell you this, if you can't handle standing up, you're basically shit out of luck as far as jobs go, so give it a shot. 99.999% of jobs you can get as unskilled labor involve standing up for 6-8 hours a day.

I've only read the first two chapters of Bort, and I don't remember it being THAT bad. I guess they kept everyone "in focus" (Bort, Naruto, Sasuke) on model and then gave less than two shits about everyone else? I won't say the art is BAD, but it's certainly not CONSISTENT. Hinata looks like she'd fit right in in season 4 of JoJo.

Well, this isn't really an issue. Remember in the original series, when Naruto was still 12, there were enemies that could challenge Kakashi and the Hokages. And realistically speaking " there is no enemy they can introduce that doesn't instantly vaporize Naruto whilst also not being instantly vaporized by Third Hokage" (case in point: Orochimaru fucking their shit up casually the first time he showed up). And yet, there were challenges for Naruto. Because the Hokage has better things to do than run around and squash every little Chuunin that gets it into his head he can fuck with the village. That's why he has an army of genin, chuunin, jounin, and Anbu (lol). They also established in the Gaiden leading up to Bort that 20 years or so of sitting on his ass signing papers all day has made Naruto a little rusty (he can still crush a fucking planet, mind you, but he needs to warm up first) and anything short of a village ending threat is probably not important enough to stop him from handling all day to day managerial and political duties the Hokage has. Including stuff like his own daughter's birthday, because Naruto is kind of a prick. I've actually been enjoying Bort, because so far it seems more character driven than action driven, and I actually like Bort as a character (but not enough to stop calling him Bort). TL;DR: "Why didn't the Waves arc end with Hiruzen powerbombing Zabuza?" As for Toriko...I gave up on Toriko. What even the fuck was going on? Who cares!

Eh, I've got time. But jesus, 231 pages of forum posts. Since you've done a pretty detailed analysis I assume, where would you say the series "went wrong" exactly? I remember really enjoying the first part, and a lot of stuff post time-skip, but somewhere between the introduction of the Akatsuki and where they started to be killed off en masse I remember enjoying it much less. But a lot of stuff happened in between there, so...

So, a while back I got the God of War HD collection, with the first two games remastered for the PS3. I LOVED the first game, lots of fast paced brutal combat, and a fun time all around. Took a break for a while, and started playing God of War 2. Fuck this piece of shit game. It started off well, fun "taste of power" segment, your powers are Metroided away, and you begin a new adventure. The plot is actually good this time, and I kinda give a shit about Kratos' journey to fuck over everyone and everything in the universe because Zeus pissed in his Cheerios. But then the game starts to becomes such a SLOG. All the enemies are such beeftanks this time around, nothing gets staggered even slightly by your attacks beyond the most basic mooks, so it takes forever to get through these fights. And then it gets WORSE. Every single fucking enemy starts punishing you for doing more than Square Square ROLL, so all the upgrades and shit you get for your now MULTIPLE weapons mean exactly fucking jack and all besides increased damage, because god help you if you try to use one of your cool rapid attack moves or some kind of combo because the enemy will slap the shit out of you the moment you try it unless you use Rage of the Titans. But I persevere, because I started this and I damn well intend to finish it. So I get to Zeus. Final boss time. Yay. Zeus is more of the same. Parry, counter-attack, maybe get a tiny strike in there somewhere with this shitty sword they stuck you with, lather rinse and repeat for 10-15 minutes across multiple phases of a fight. And then comes a quicktime event. First time goes well, slam the dude into a pillar, drop it on him, phase 3 begins and I keep pounding the bastard, and it comes time to do the tango all over again and finish off this slow-paced garbage and move on. But no. The game doesn't even have the decency of letting me do that. Instead of going where he's supposed to, in a glorified fucking CUTSCENE, something glitches out in the depths of this garbage fire of a game, and Zeus sails off a cliff. No way to continue the fight, no way to beat the game other than restart the fight and HOPE it works the next time. Some stupid fucker on Gamefaqs said he restarted this fight TEN TIMES before it worked. Yeah, no, fuck that, Youtube exists for a reason.
