Indeed it is.Season 2, much like the book is a bit worse, but if Season 3 continues the trend of following the books nearly to the letter it will be a LOT better than Season 1.

I could see an Action RPG a la Fallout working in the Half-Life universe.Get a high enough Applied Science skill and you can make Gravity Guns and Portal Guns, Bio-Mechanical Engineering'd let you "summon" or transform enemies into Combine-ized versions, throw in a bit of hocus-pocus Psychic powers that let you open portals to Xen and summon creatures or something.Would be pretty cool.
