The only people it's good for are the people who are killing the game as-is. Nobody competent has a problem with "spam". The class has been made fucking worthless at this point. Traps don't work on people with two brain cells to rub together, and aren't interesting to use in the first place. In one fell swoop it has annihilated one of the power classes of the game, leaving Soldier and Heavy as the only two classes with real firepower on the frontlines. It is a terrible change for the game in general. It doesn't just "nerf spam" it buffs Sentries, it makes pushes even LESS likely in pubs since there are now only two instead of 3 real push classes to choose from, it fucks with every inter class check and balance relating to Demoman. Engineers are now only soft countered by the Soldier, and even then the Short Circuit and Wrangler fuck with that. Scouts still wreck Demomen, but Demomen don't have the frontline presence to justify that glaring close range weakness any more. A Demoman is at a straight disadvantage to any class with his same HP or higher (it takes the better portion of 4 seconds to kill a 125 HP class at mid range, his supposed strong range, and the better part of 3 seconds to kill a 175 HP class in close range. These are assuming absolute max damage, i.e. perfectly placed Stickies. The fucking REVOLVER out DPSes the Stickybomb Launcher right now at mid range.), making him only useful for ineffectively camping or killing light classes (except light classes have a damage or utility advantage over him now anyway). Heavies have one less soft counter, bringing their grand total of unfavorable class match-ups down to 1: Sniper. It's a terrible, ill thought out change that has far reaching consequences besides "nerfing spam", but everybody's too busy jerking themselves off over "Lol Demo got nerfed winbombs gone lol no more OP" to think about any of that. Even if a nerf was justified, effectively lowering the Sticky's damage by 30 damage (a little over a third) is not a good nerf.

What the comp scene should do is find a new game, preferably ones with designers who don't take design cues from mouthbreathers and item usage statistics.

They fixed winbombing. Winbombing hasn't existed for a long time. The term has been obsolete for like 4 god damn years now. Stop using it. Not that this update changes much. What it "fixes" is mindless spamming M1+M2 at brainless targets. Won't affect anybody halfway decent past an initial learning curve. Caters to the lowest common denominator, yet again, but at least they didn't fuck it up worse. Edit: Revised opinion based on new info, can no longer two shot Soldiers, Pyros, Demos, etc. with max damage Stickies. Hahaha FUCK YOU. The Axtinguisher nerf on the other hand...why.

The Tide Turner actually looks kinda neat. The Back Scatter is probably going to be annoying as fuck to be on the receiving end of. The B.A.S.E Jumper is a parachute. The Classic will either be a fun alternative to the Huntsman for a front lines Sniper, or utterly worthless. The Air Strike seems poorly thought out. Less damage + Smaller Clip Size + Only at max effectiveness while jumping means you have an effectively 2 shot RL with a damage penalty whose main boon is an ON KILL effect. I see no reason why anyone should take it over the stock RL/Original.

Prototype 2 somehow managed to be a sequel with LESS stuff in it than the original. I dun like it. Where's all the gratuitous combos? The Hammer Toss? Multiple special moves for each power? Shit like that?

Probably the latter. Valve has a fine tradition of screwing the Spy out of everything they can think of.

Season 3's a bit back to basics. Season 4 is... Well season 4 was indeed a season of the show.

1.) Dragon Age: Origins. One of the best RPGs ever made, and my personal favorite in the fantasy genre. If you prefer Sci-Fi, then Mass Effect (though ME2 is far superior IMO). 2.) Kingdom Hearts (the whole series, but especially 1 and 2). I always get warm fuzzy feelings when I play either of these games. Great fun, good story (if a bit...convoluted). 3.) The Jak and Daxter series, but especially 2 and 3. If I had to pick one, then 2. Awesome gameplay, solid story, lots of replayability. 4.) Borderlands. Yes, the original. For someone who hasn't played it to death, they'd probably enjoy the first over the second one, at least until their 3rd or 4th run through. 5.) Fallout 3. Just barely beats out New Vegas on atmosphere alone. Open world goodness at its finest. Honorable mentions: Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, Assassin's Creed 2, the Ratchet and Clank series, and Hitman: Blood Money.

Got Prototype 2. Watched opening cutscene. Dammit I got this for mindless violence, not for FEELINGS!

Finally got around to reading Skin Game yesterday (picked it up a few days after it came out...and got way sucked into Worm right before I cracked it open and binged on all of that goodness before Skin Game). If you haven't read Worm...I think I may make a thread on it. Really liked this one. Wouldn't say it was my favorite book (though it's top 5 for sheer fun, for sure), but it definitely had some of my favorite moments. Really, ALL of the moments with Michael. Michael's just so...genuine. He can preach without sounding preachy. I love him. I laughed out loud for a good minute after Some of the most heartwarming moments in all the books in this one, as well as some of the most badass, involving Butters, of all people. And am I the only one who wonders...
