And that's all well and good when someone ELSE'S VALUES aren't being shoved up your anus daily. -
Mississippi "Mandatory minute of prayer" in schools

You've already lost a few minutes from morning announcements, the Pledge of Allegiance (also mandatory to stand, though not to recite), and anything else that needs to be done in the morning. Generally the first class of the day is also the shortest (technically) since the announcements already eat about 5-10 minutes of it. There's quite a gulf of difference between "Okay kids you have 50 minutes to finish this test" and "Okay kiddies you have 35 minutes to finish this test". The same amount of work, but I'm not doing it in school and I'm not making other people watch me pleasure myself. And not to Miley Cyrus. -

Fulfilling is not the same as productive. What are you getting done while you're praying? Even worse, what are the other (non-praying) students getting done while you're praying? Absolutely NOTHING. Teachers are always complaining about how hard it is to get their students on track in the mornings and mandatory "Thumb Twiddle Time" doesn't help matters in that regard either. Like I said, pray on your own time. School is for learning. This is a bit of an offshoot I had with my grandma once about how she wished that they could get someone who would "Pray for our nation" in the White House. My question to her, of course, was "Wouldn't you rather we had a president that actually DID something instead of sitting around praying?" and her answer, like all Southern Baptists was to give me that fake pity look and go "Prayer fixes everything sweetheart, of course he wouldn't need to do anything". The only reason I wasn't mad was because A.) She was my grandma, and B.) My dad was trying not to laugh his ass off. -

At least it can spark a productive and educational debate about why the Holocaust happened and how to prevent it from happening again. Prayer is not productive. It is not educational. It requires no thought. People can do it on their own time without wasting mine with it. -

It's a waste of time better spent doing literally anything else. -
It's definitely the latter. You're not even "internet famous" and people who are internet famous aren't even known by the majority of people.

*Animu. And Black Butler season 2 almost made me turn it off before the end of the first episode. Thankfully, the real protagonists showed up and took the show back.

Really? I joined MLM like a year ago and it was all "OMG welcome!!!!!"...and I still never posted anything else there or ever went back to even look at it.

Sweet. I've been waiting for the Beta to this for a while.

I like your drawing that Stamda posted.

It's a bit more than "lol this is hot". Where else are you ever going to really discuss weird stuff like that in a (mostly) non-judgemental setting? It's not a sign of immaturity to be open about stuff like that. Everybody has fetishes. Everybody masturbates. For that matter, everybody poops. There's even a book about it. It's not gross or disgusting or anything else other than what it is: A weird, interesting thread that you don't need to read if you're uncomfortable talking about sex with other people your own age. As for "chasing people off the boards" there's really no indication of that. Yeah, it doesn't need to be posted in the Welcome threads, sure, but the people we've lost are due to the normal "Somebody invited me and I signed up because they asked me to and I have no interest on my own" scenario and a very small amount of posters who can't handle mild disagreement or heckling, especially when they're also very belligerent about their opinion and are rightfully retaliated against for being an ass.

I don't dislike Arin (though I started watching Grumps because I liked JonTron's vids), but I do really kinda hate his opinion in that vidya. But I already posted a bunch on that subject in the comments.
-
Why would you ban discussions? Because some people's widdle brains can't handle having a mature discussion with opposing viewpoints? That's not a failing of the discussions, that's a failing of those individuals. There should never be a need to say "You can't discuss anything that might be controversial". Assuming you're talking about the "Controversial" subjects and not "What makes your willy hard me boy?" type stuff.

We already had this argument. I won, remember?

God speed you magnificent soon-to-return-as-a-ghost bastard.

Seriously though, it's more trouble than it's worth now. It was fine when it was in the main forum. It was fine when it was just "Hey yo, gimme da pass", but all this group nonsense makes it slightly more effort than the gain from the new sub-forum (i.e. none). How 'bout dis: Remove the threads locked up in the Saloon and put 'em back in the normal forum. At least the Fetish and Controversial threads. Keep the Sexual and Controversial tags. Require threads with those themes to be labeled as such. Add a warning to the effect of "Read at your own risk threads with these tags" to the rules section or whatever. Te da diddly o the problem that was never a problem is "fixed".

Arin doesn't know jack shit and it pisses me off that he keeps pretending he does. With that smug ass "I'm right but I'll let you hold on to your misconceptions" attitude he has. Edit: Angry post on video itself makes it to top comment. Muy bien.

Because the Fetish thread is cool.

This is officially now more of a headache than it's worth.

Yeesh. Dat season finale.

So I started watching Black Butler again at my brother's urging. First half of the series is quite silly, with a bit of dark humor now and then. Seems like a slice of life comedy about Victorian England, an orphan boy (an Earl), and his ridiculously efficient butler. Second half is quite interesting. Especially with the explanation (though I think it mentioned it a bit earlier on) of WHY his butler is so inhumanly effective. Quite a dark series once you get into it, though in my opinion is fairly standard and episodic in the first half.

Well go play Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald again I guess. All the regions are pretty generic TBH. They didn't even need to remake Gold and Silver.
