That's what they say they're doing, but I wouldn't trust Valve if they promised to wash my socks at this point, so I'm not sure why YOU trust them so much. You're just regurgitating the line they gave a while back along with their built in excuse for dropping the game if it's not a good update. "Oh if people complain about it this will be the last update". Every update that's been hyped for along time has been bad. End of the Line was in dev for over a year and it still turned out shit, I'm not sure why people think the Pyro update will be any different.

Sucking Valve's dick isn't going to make the update or the situation any better.

You can also just get access to it on Steam directly by going to its store page. I might play it, I never played Abe's Oddyssee. I played a bit of Munch's, and through most of Stranger's Wrath and they're pretty fun.

So, goofing off with friends in FFA Deathmatch (which is the best part of this game so far BTW) I started playing Doomfist a bit more. And after they got off I decided to play A LOT more Doomfist. I think I figured out what was wrong with him, why he wasn't clicking with me: I was playing him as the wrong kind of character. I was trying to play him as more of a bruiser, but he can't really fill that role unless you get mondo stacks of armor first (having nearly 700 HP after a good streak feels GOOD). No, I should have been (and am now) playing him as more of an assassin. Doomfist is hella good at getting kamikaze picks on healers, and if you manage to survive the dive you have a bit of armor that can lead to an excellent cascade of kills in the right circumstances. He's basically a sniper, except the bullet is him. He's especially good in Team Deathmatch in my recent experience, I was consistently on the top 4 board with him in 4v4, usually for 30+% team hero damage or on one occasion just having gold medals in everything but healing. He has some pretty hard counters though, which kinda fed into my earlier dissatisfaction. Any tank besides Reinhardt, especially Roadhog, will tear him six new assholes unless there's a convenient death pit to slap a bitch into. He also doesn't tend to do well AT ALL against Bastion, Torbjorn is rough (though more doable), and Junkrat is usually a mutual kill since it's hard to escape his death bombs after you've flattened him. Him being kind of a one trick pony as to how he kills people also makes him a bit predictable, but ood timing and positioning eliminates that as a problem, mostly. Still, he's super fun to play. Currently moved up into my top 3 favorite characters (along with Junkrat and Zenyatta). I wish his ult was a bit better (I generally tend to use it as a glorified escape power since trying to use it to get a kill is usually asking people to just move slightly away and then gangbang you, rare "bunker buster" scenarios notwithstanding), and his abilities could use a slightly faster cooldown IMO to mitigate the "Excels in a 1v1, sucks in most team fights" aspect, but solid 8/10, would Fist again.

Had a dream I was embroiled in some kind of zombie apocalypse with a couple of other nameless faceless people. Interestingly, the zombies didn't seem overly aggressive. They would attack if you got within a few feet (and they saw you) but did not seem to actively seek out people to bite. They DID however have a habit of just...appearing places, like video game spawns, so nowhere was ever completely safe. And some of them were very difficult to kill. Just before I woke up a mass murderer showed up (apparently before everything went down he'd killed building full of people because somebody had cooked his food wrong), and we chatted uneasily for a bit. I think I was planning to whack him in the throat with my machete but I woke up first.

So, I've heard good things about the Tales series, anyone on these boards a fan? I ask because three are on sale right now (Symphonia, Zestiria, and Berseria) and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on which, if any, to get. Are any or all of them a good jumping on point for the series? Any of those three significantly better or worse than the others? I was leaning toward Berseria as the newest game of the bunch, but if one of the other two is just overwhelmingly better, I'd like to know.

...Do you know WHY it reduced in power? Because it rolled over several islands (including Puerto Rico) on the way here. If it had missed Cuba (which it very nearly did) it would have been at full strength when it hit the Keys and Miami. It still caused quite a bit of damage and potential loss of life had not those areas been evacuated. This is what first landfall on the islands looked like. It really wasn't "overhyped". Telling people to evacuate coastal areas for a Cat 5 (or 4, or even a solid 3) is not "hype", it's precaution. It's why with every major hurricane we have less and less casualties, because more information is available, and it's easier to get it to people that need it. Even if it does need to dominate local news stations for a week to do so, it's worth it so people are informed of the danger and can prepare. Is it silly for people in Atlanta to be doomsday prepping? Yeah. But that's because people are fucking stupid, half-inform themselves, and base their decisions on that half context. Not because of "media overhype". It was (and is) a dangerous storm, but will not be by the time it reaches that far inland. Basically, as always, you're opening your fat gob about shit you don't know anything about.

I enjoyed the first WItcher, but it's the only one I've played s far. Got a little ways into 2 but there's something about it that keeps making me drop it. Also I don't know what you mean, the graphics and visuals in the original Witcher were great.

Sounds like fun. I probably can't do this weekend, but next weekend maybe.

*They're not bad if you live in North-Central Florida (or otherwise inland in various states) or are a low Cat 4 or below. I'm in SoFlo for the first year and it's looking like it's going to hit Miami pretty hard. I'm a bit out of the evac zone, but it could be rough.

So I finally have a computer good enough to play Overwatch. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Things that stop you from moving/acting are a satanic pox on all FPS gaming, but other than that the game's pretty good. Played it for a good 6 hours or so over the last two days, hit level 10 before I got off tonight. Current favorites: Junkrat (because he's literally Demoman, it's good the game has a class I can tryhard with if need be even as a new player) Widowmaker (kinda surprised me because I usually dislike sniper characters but her sniper rifle works more like a DMR a lot of the time anyway so that's cool) Zenyatta (so far the only healer I like. Ana requires me to babysit people too much, Mercy is TOO passive, and Lucio is...eh.) Genji (GO NINJA GO NINJA GO) Biggest disappointments: Hanzo (he's just...so unsatisfying to play. His bow just has no feedback at all so even when you do well it feels bad. And he was the one I was looking forward to the most, too.) Doomfist (the character that is apparently hard countered by anybody with a gun. So much fun potential, all of it wasted).

It likely won't be as bad as Harvey. Despite being a larger, more initially dangerous storm, it's an Atlantic storm and it's more of a "bruiser". It's going to hit an area, sweep through, cause chaos. and move on. So high wind damage, but the flooding will be significantly less. Gulf storms like Harvey are the worst since they Beyblade all over the area they landfall at and just cause huge long term damage. I feel the worst for Cuba and the Caribbean islands it's going to hit first. It's a monstrous storm, and most of that huge force is going to dump all over them, Irma's going to be a relative wimp by the time it hits the coast of Florida. Still a Cat 4, and dangerous, but out on the ocean right now it's a record breaker.

Just a friendly reminder to any other subSPUFians who may be in Florida: Don't forget to stock water (the stores are likely sold out by now; Fill up bottles or tubs with tap water when you can) and board/shutter your windows. This is the first big storm in a while and it could be a real butt-puckerer.

Anybody here played Absolver? It looks like Godhand had a baby with Dark Souls and Destiny in some unholy threesome and it really speaks to me. Of course, trailers always lie and so do reviews so...thoughts from anyone who's got it?
