Yeah, the nerf sucks. Explosion is one of my favorite moves. Although using Overheat may not be a bad idea either, but I'd either have to have him hold White Herb or switch out right after he uses it, which may not be always possible.

    Awesome! I'll be free Thursday.

Yeah, I mean I'd love to use Speed Boost Blaziken if I had one. Ah well, he'll be in the sun team. Explosion was nerfed in Gen 5, no longer halves target defense. Although Flamethrower may be a good idea.

Basically. It's stupid, yeah, but it's there. Also I added the new team member.

Turns out there's going to be a Pokemon Tournament inside my school, and it actually has decent rules. Of course, I need to enter this tournament for the purpose of destroying everyone(and winning $100 is a nice bonus too). I'm thinking of using sand, but I can also use rain and sun if I want. I don't expect a lot of competition, but hey, there's probably one or two good people. What team should I use, and how should I change it up? This will be the team I'll probably be using. Any suggestions would be nice, and if you want to see the rain/sun team I'll post it. [spoiler2] Leftovers Brave 252HP/76Atk/182Def Pursuit/Stealth Rock/Superpower/Counter He's the main man of the team, bring in the sand, pack in the hits. Not much to be said here, he's mostly defensive. Focus Sash Sand Rush Jolly 4HP/252ATK/252SPE Earthquake/Swords Dance/Rock Slide/Shadow Claw This thing is a goddamn monster in a sandstorm. He goes to 604 speed in the sand and just bashes through everything with Swords Dance, which I believe gets his attack to 738. Focus Sash is to make sure he gets 1 Swords Dance in for sure. He's also Jolly so he can out-speed stuff base 100 Adamant mon's(Salamence) Life Orb Timid Magic Guard 4HP/252SPA/252SPE Psyshock/Shadow Ball/Hidden Power Fire/Energy Ball Alakazam? In a sand team? What is this madness? No, it's true. With Magic Guard, he is immune to damage from sandstorm and is immune to Life Orb's recoil. Because of this, he fits in quite well as a sweeper. He's mostly here for coverage. Choice Band Jolly Sand Veil 4HP/252ATK/252SPE Outrage/Earthquake/Stone Edge/Aqua Tail Good old Garchomp. Sand Veil offers protection(and most importantly loopholes the rule of no Double Team/Sand-Attack). Again, just kill everything. Air Balloon Timid 4HP/252SPA/252SPE Lava Plume/Hidden Power Grass/Earth Power/Flash Cannon Heatran! Yes, Heatran is here. Not taking any damage from Fire type moves is very nice and having several resistances helps out too. Heatran also can dodge ground attacks with his air balloon until he get's hit, He's reasonably fast, but I'll have to be careful around faster mons. Toxic Orb Impish Poison Heal 252HP/72 ATK/252DEF Substitute/Protect/Earthquake/Toxic Yeah, he's here to be a bastard. He's a generic moveset though, so nothing really special. Set up Substitute, Toxic, repeat. He's ♥♥♥♥ed against Skarmory though, so I'll play carefully around it. [/spoiler2] Oh, and the rules are.. -No double team/sand attack bullshit, or items like BrightPowder. -No OHKO moves. -1 of each Pokemon, 1 of each item. -Sleep Clause/Freeze Clause -1 Legendary Pokemon that isn't banned in the Battle Facilities(so basically no version mascot legendary Pokemon) -Single Battle 6v6 -No hacked Pokemon(How they plan to determine this, hopefully Pokecheck) -Sky Drop is banned.

Yeah, after making sure I didn't drop the GBA, I grabbed my DSi and took a few pictures of the Espeon. I'll upload them eventually, but they aren't too good quality. How's the Frontier going, by the way?

Ah, I see. I remember when I saw a shiny Espeon in the Battle Factory. I swapped for it obviously, it was pretty good. You swapped for the Gyarados, right?

Well, you just finished White 2, so Black 2 is probably going to feel extremely boring. HG/SS are extremely slow anyway, but so is Platinum(albeit not as slow as D/P, Platinum was D/P done right). I'd say depending on what legendary Pokemon you want, go for HG or Plat.

    Dreams

I rarely sleep, but when I do, I have lucid dreams. I think this was the most memorable one. I was walking across a hallway. It was large, but empty. It was completely grey in color and I never stopped to "think" about how grey it was. It felt like something was around, but because I couldn't see much, I kept walking. Slowly, I felt like I was sad for no reason. Not angry-sad, just sad, as if you lost something or someone. Despite this, I kept walking. I now felt like for sure someone was watching me. Eventually, I hit a wall while walking. I got up and rubbed my now throbbing head. Seeing as there was no other way, I decided to turn back, still rubbing my head. Of course, this is the part where something bad happens. Now walking up the hallway, I hear a laugh. Not the generic horror monster/zombie/ect laugh, no. This laugh, sounded like a high-pitched laugh, almost shrieking, not like the Joker per say, but had some of it if anything. Scared shitless, but with my back literally to a wall, I had to keep going, but I noticed I wasn't getting any farther. It was like the endless stairs in Super Mario 64, I couldn't go up. I noticed something poke out in the corner, it wasn't very far away(if I had to guess, 6 meters?). I couldn't tell, but it was dark as hell, almost covered in a black color. I then hear footsteps. It's a person. Who is it? I have no fucking clue. Still stuck in spot, I see the person get closer and closer, and he's holding something. Cut back to me, actual me, now wanting to get the fuck out of this horrid nightmare. But I was screwed with sleep paralysis, I couldn't open my goddamn eyes. All I could see was his sockets. He raised the knife. And then I woke up with a scream. actually you know after that dream I started having sleeping problems, maybe that's the reason why I have insomnia.

    The IT thread.

Sometimes my internet connection becomes a complete and utter jackass and constantly disconnects/reconnects. Not only does this make it near impossible to use Steam, but it's fucking annoying while browsing. Our ISP doesn't know what the fuck's going on and resetting the router does nothing. What do?

    Pokemon

Fair enough for normal, but why PokeSav? There's literally no point to it anymore(especially considering how easy gen 5 RNG is once you get the hang of it.)

    Pokemon

After some encouragement from Grobag and weighing the pro's and con's of this(the cons probably outweigh the pro's but who cares), I guess I could post some RNG guides here. I'll put them in spoiler tags because you probably don't want a huge block of text without your consent. Grobag suggested gen 3, so I'll do that. [spoiler2]You'll need a few materials before we start. Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald. A GBA or NDS/NDS Lite The RNG Reporter, version 9.96. This allows us to find IV spreads we want. EonTimer, which is a stopwatch program specifically designed to help with RNGing in gen 3-5. Your SID(Optional, but required for shiny Pokemon.) You can find your SID by uploading a Pokemon to Pokecheck from the respective game file that you want to find the SID of. Patience, this comes with time and skill. A Pokemon with Sweet Scent and a Pokemon with Synchronize Rare candies to check what frame you hit An IV Calculator. First, let's start out with a few terms. Frame: A frame is a specific instant in the RNG that holds a specific RNG value. In this case of Pokemon, it holds pretty much everything about the Pokemon, IV's, level, shinyness, ect. In R/S/E, the frames advance at around 60 FPS(Frames per Second). If you hit the same frame over and over again, you will always get the same results(this is somewhat true for R/S) Seed: The seed generates the values the RNG will have to determine. In Ruby and Sapphire, the seed is relevant to time and date, although a R/S cartridge with a dead battery will always have a seed of 5A0. FR/LG have 256 seeds, but run through them on a 16 MHZ timer, making them impossible to abuse. Unlike the other games, Emerald does not actually have a seed due to a bug, as the function is only called when starting a new game. After that, the seed becomes 0, or nothing. Method: Each Pokemon has a type of method. Method 1 Pokemon are Pokemon that you can "talk" to by pressing A or taking a step. These Pokemon include(but are not limited to) Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza, Ho-oh/Lugia, Mew, Deoxys, starter Pokemon, the Regi's and Latios/Latias. Eggs are not Method 1. Method 2 Pokemon are wild Pokemon you get via Sweet Scent. Method 4 is a type of generation that can occur, but does not usually happen, so don't rely on a method 4 spread. Got all that? Good. Now open up the RNG Reporter. When you open it up, you will see a large window. This is called the main window. Refer to it whenever the guide says so. [spoiler2][/spoiler2] Input your ID(the one on the back of your trainer card) and your SID if you want shiny Pokemon. If you don't want shiny Pokemon or don't know it, leave the field blank. Now let's find an IV spread that we like. Most of Emerald's spreads with flawless IV's are in really high frames, however there are quite a few good low frames with very good IV's(even lower with breeding). Infact, there's a nice Adamant spread of 20/31/30/13/27/31 about 3 minutes into the game. There's also another a nice Adamant spread of 30/27/27/18/31/31 about 8 and 1/2 minutes into the game. Regardless, once you think of a spread or just want to see what's there, click generate and the RNG reporter will list all possible frames with the given parameters. NOTE: If you are using Ruby or Sapphire with a dead battery, in the "Seed(Hex)" column, put 5A0, as mentioned before, R/S have a working seed function, and of course, different spreads. [spoiler2][/spoiler2] Anyway, once you find the frame you like, open up Eontimer and set it to "High priority" via Task manager. Click on the tab that says 3 or Gen 3. In the box next to "Target Frame", put the frame you want to hit. For the sake of this guide, we'll put it frame 11645. Leave the lag box at 0 for now. [spoiler2][/spoiler2] At this point, make sure your game is on, ready to be soft reset when needed, as well as saved in the target area/infront of the Pokemon you want to RNG. Once you start EonTimer, there will be a short 5 second timer, which gives you time to soft reset. As soon as the timer hit's 0, soft reset your game. The timer will continue to run. Quickly rush through the main menu until you get ingame and are waiting infront of the Pokemon you want to RNG. Once you have done that, press A/take a step as soon as the Timer hit's 0. Gen 3 RNG requires millisecond precision, so it's highly likely you will be trying again and again, but do not give up. Once you trigger the battle, capture the Pokemon and check it's IV's with an IV calculator. If it's level is too low, pump rare candies into it. Around level 30-35 is good enough to check the IV's. If you hit your target frame, congrats! That's all there is to it. Enjoy that nice shiny Pokemon, or that Pokemon with sweet IV's, you earned it, slugger. If you DID not hit your target frame, check around your target frame and see if any of the nearby frames match up. If they do, note what frame it is. If the frame is +/- 3 frames of your target, don't update Eontimer and try again. If it's more than +/- 3 frames of your target, go to EonTimer and type in what frame you hit in the box "Frame Hit", then click update. You'll notice the lag box adjust to either -# or +#. After that is done, try again. I'll post egg RNG later after some feedback. If you guys want 4th or 5th gen RNG, say so. [/spoiler2]

On the bright side, I just caught Mewtwo in SS with a Pokeball. If he only would sit still for the Premier Ball.

I ALWAYS had problems catching Zapdos in any game that wasn't HGSS. I honestly agree with Raz, FR/LG catch rates are goddamn borked.
  23. Cell

    Pokemon

Yeah, Dialga and Palkia have like a 45 catch rate compared to the usual 3. It's probably because you basically were forced to fight them after a long ass fight, not to mention you can't run and grab Pokeballs if you forgot. and if you did you were basically fucked.

Not bad. I remember catching Zapdos in HG/SS with 5 Poke balls at full HP now if only every other goddamn legendary was like that

Aye. At least in RBY most of the Safari mons were available in the Cerulean Cave.
