  1. Can I propose UU?

If the answer is no, count my vote as OU

I was debating adding UU, but to be honest at that point I probably would have included all the other tiers too. The 4 are all rather unique to each other, while UU is basically Ubers+OU mons are banned.

Admittedly, I'm unsure as to what tier you guys would like to play, so I'm dividing it up into a vote. There will be four different tiers to select from. Ubers, OU, Little Cup, and Monotype.

Rules for each are put into spoilers, and yes, they are basically Smogon's rules. All battle are 6v6.

    Ubers

Ubers is the "bang-all" tier. Every single Pokemon is allowed to be used, including legendary Pokemon such as Palkia and Kyorge. However, the following rules are still in check.

    • Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any Pokémon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play. Thus:
      • A Pokémon may not carry Recycle and hold a Leppa Berry in conjunction with Heal Pulse and Milk Drink, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Recover, Roost, Slack Off, Soft-Boiled, or Wish.
      • A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry and carry Recycle and Pain Split on its moveset.
      • A Pokémon may not hold a Leppa Berry and carry Recycle and Fling on its moveset.
    • Moody Clause: Pokémon with the ability Moody are not permitted.
    • OHKO Clause: A Pokemon may not have the moves Fissure, Guillotine, Horn Drill, or Sheer Cold in its moveset.
    • Sleep Clause: Only one Pokémon may be put to sleep on the opposing team at a time, if not induced by a move such as Rest.
    • Species Clause: Players cannot have two Pokémon with the same Pokédex number on the same team.
    • Pokémon are level 100.

    OU

OU, which stands for Oveused, is the standard tier in battling. In OU, certain Pokemon are banned, as they are deed too powerful. However, the rules otherwise are essentially the same.

Here is a list of all banned Pokemon in OU.

    Arceus
    Blaziken
    Darkrai
    Deoxys
    Deoxys-A
    Dialga
    Genesect
    Giratina
    Giratina-O
    Groudon
    Ho-oh
    Kyogre
    Kyurem-W
    Lugia
    Mewtwo
    Palkia
    Rayquaza
    Reshiram
    Shaymin-S
    Xerneas
    Yveltal
    Zekrom

In addition to that, all rules in Ubers still apply.

PLUS, there's an item ban. Gengarite, Kangaskhanite and Lucarionite are not allowed to be used.

    Little Cup

Little cup is a special tier. For starters, no Pokemon that can evolve(or that is banned in OU), is allowed in Little Cup. Secondly, all Pokemon are level 5. Essentially, you've got small Pokemon like Bagon and Squirtle fighting it out for the winner.

    • The Pokémon must be able to evolve.
    • The Pokémon must be the earliest evolution stage obtainable.
    • The Pokémon must be at Level 5.
    • The Pokémon must not be on the Ubers list.

In addition to the already aftermentioned banned Pokemon, the following are banned from use in Little Cup:

    • Gligar, Scyther, Sneasel, Swirlix, Tangela, Yanma

Sonicboom and Dragon Rage are both banned moves. Why? Well, they break everything.

    Monotype

Monotype is identical to OU rulewise, with one condition. All Pokemon on the team must share the same type. You cannot have any Pokemon with two different types on the same team, unless it's a dual-type with the same track. If that didn't make sense, here's a visual example.

    555_darmanitan_front_norm.png+ Spr_4p_467.png= YES

    555_darmanitan_front_norm.png+006.png= YES

    555_darmanitan_front_norm.png+229-m.png= YES

    555_darmanitan_front_norm.png+swampert.png= NO

So, I'll tally up the votes later, but that's it. Vote away.

    Ubers-1

    OU-4

    Little Cup-0

    Monotype-0

  3. Do we have to have the physical game or is there an online thing? Im not sure if an emulator will do online.

Pokemon Showdown is an online server which people battle. You don't need an emulator or a physical cartridge, it's literally an emulator itself.

  4. inb4 cell murderizes us all

Nah, Simon's the better battler to be honest. I think if you guys really put your head together, you'd get me.

With that said, I'd love to organize a PS tournament. How many people should we get? 8? 12? 16? As many as we can?

Hmm, I guess I can make it official here. The sign-up deadline is March 7th, with the matches commencing on the 8th. The type of tournament will be decided at a later date(ubers, OU, ect), but if you guys have any (un)orthodox suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

  5. On Nintendo's website:
"As of May 20, 2014, certain online functionality offered through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will no longer be accessible. The discontinued services include online play, matchmaking and leaderboards for many Wii, Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi games. Users can still play the games in offline mode, which continues to offer a rich game-play experience.

Online play for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games will be unaffected (aside from the Wii mode on Wii U and Nintendo DS games on Nintendo 3DS family systems). Other online functionality, such as access to the Wii Shop Channel, the Nintendo DSi Shop and video-on-demand services, are also not affected at this time.

The affected games include every title using Wi-Fi for the Wii and Nintendo DS systems, including Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Animal Crossing: Wild World/City Folk, Mario Kart Wii, and every Pokemon title from Diamond and Pearl to Black 2 and White 2"

    Oh FUCK

  6. try playing mario 64 now instead of galaxy

the later levels will kick your teeth in and piss on your mother

You know in all honesty, I found Galaxy and SM64 to be basically the same in difficulty, although I'd slightly(and I mean very slightly) give the edge to Galaxy because some of those fucking purple coin missions were hard as shit.

    The translated text is...

PS4: just how powerful is it?
If you compare the PS3 to Freeza’s first form (battle power 530,000)
PS4 is a monster machine like the fourth form of Freeza (battle power 60 million).
[8GB Memory] -> 16 times the PS3. Power: Can use the Death Beam 16 times at the same time.
[8 Cores] -> 8 Times the PS3. Number of programs that can be executed: The Ginyu Force is now 40 people.
[Memory GDDR5] -> 7 Times the PS3. Processing Speed: Will move seven time quicker.

  8. I dunno, I really enjoy kids whining about Goku or Shadow not getting in (they never will).

My one remaining wish is that Chrom replaces Ike. And also that DK isn't terrible.

At the very least I could see Shadow returning as an Assist Trophy, but why the fuck would people think Goku would get in?

Although, the idea of a Smash Bros-esque game with DBZ characters sounds amazing

  9. The amount of minimize/double team users in the battle Frontier is aggravating

Aerial Goddamn Ace. Get a Salamence with it and you will never worry about that goddamn thing again.

  10. My shiny Jirachi I got from Cell couldn't transfer for some reason. -shrug-

Yeah, it won't recognize it as legitimate. It's indeed entirely possible to get one legitimately, although the savefile checksum has to match up to an exact value in order to get one. There are 9 different spreads, I think.

The reason why it won't recognize said value is because it's a programming bug and thus "not supposed to happen". It's only possible on the NA Colosseum bonus disc. It was fixed on the PAL Bonus Channel disc.

If any of that's not clear I could try to explain it a little better/differently.

    Sorry Buddha.
