    The IT thread.

not sure if ironic or not It's an issue with the .NET framework, so it's possible that something I installed recently is going haywire. I'll probably drop it into safe mode and see if the issue still occurs. Might also check if there's some urgent patch available for it.

    The IT thread.

Why is Windows so bad? .NET decides it needs to optimize the hell out of itself, spawning a process that eats 20 GB of RAM in a few seconds. This completely locks my computer and forces me to restart. It seems to happen randomly - generally repeating if I kill the process. Has anyone seen this before? I've never had it happen before this morning, and Google isn't pulling up any recent articles about it (plenty of stuff, but nothing suggesting that this is a new bug). Windows Update is somehow using over a gig of RAM to install updates that I didn't even approve of, but that's another story.
  5. Calculate the entropy of each scene. Whichever scene has more entropy came later, unless a very boring person came in and rearranged the rocks to cause a decrease in entropy.

    Marijuana shitstorm general

Alternatively, we could just drop this tedious war on drugs entirely.
  7. I found the ACT to be far easier than the SAT, which itself wasn't particularly exciting. It felt like an extended version of our TAKS tests, which were as hard as waterlogged biscuit. Remember that it's a reading exam, a reading exam with some science in it, and a reading exam with some math in it. Read everything carefully and don't shoot anyone.
  8. It's not worth it. Just find a job punching brick walls instead

    New Forum Bug List

The lack of a preview button is very much a Wrong Thing, as is the site automatically going into mobile mode when I narrow the window (which is downright bletcherous). It feels like a step back from the previous version, in terms of both aesthetics and functionality. Also, there's a strange bug in Chrome where trying to write a url with BBCode causes the cursor to fly around. http://www.catb.org/jargon/html/W/Wrong-Thing.html]Wrong Hitting the spacebar after "Wrong" causes the cursor to jump to right after the = sign in the opening tag. It's not a problem with extensions. Is anyone else experiencing this?
  12. Alternatively, they realize that we've pretty much perfected the art of weird porn and begin worshipping us as gods who transcended existence.

  14. Experimental optical fiber connections can reach data transfer rates of one petabit, which is 1000000000000000 bits per second. This translates to 125,000 GB/s. So nope, not there yet (assuming your "speed" was 3,429,852.160 GB/s) On the other hand, FedEx might have you beat, although they'd really have to work hard.
  15. Like I don't, how does sense make even this Pray daily. If your day is uneventful, forget about it. If your day is awful, blame the devil. If your day is fantastic, praise the lord. It's like normal life, but you shift all responsibility to deity figures!
  16. How much does it weigh? Mine's at least eight pounds.
  17. I use acid all the time. For example, I used it to quench a rxn involving a strong base last week.

  19. Is there any way to prevent the site from going into a kneecapped mobile view (hiding the status updates and whatnot) because I shrunk it to half of my screen's horizontal width? Websites that do this are essentially sliced Hitler.

It's pretty good, although I feel like it's a bit unfocused in the chorus.
