You'll want to build a long, flat bridge in Hell. Consider making it over a thousand blocks long, especially since you won't have the most powerful weaponry yet. Make sure it's clear of obstacles. You can't beat the WoF with melee the first time around, so get a gun and just backpedal constantly. Something that pierces will be great against the Hungry (e.g. vilethorn or meteor shot), but you'll probably just want silver bullets for whittling down the wall itself.

also don't forget to upgrade to dagon 5 before getting brown boots forgot to mention it
