Ctrl+Shift+Escape Find the Avast process and kill it with the delete key. You can also go over to the Applications tab, right-click on the Avast listing, and hit "Go to Process..." if you can't find it easily. please never download something to kill a process, ever

It could be a sound card crash. You might need to update your firmware for it. Hit Windows key + R and then type "dxdiag" in the prompt that appears, then hit enter. Once the window loads, go to the "Sound" tab and see what's listed here

It's common practice for forums to not automatically show an edit notice until several minutes have passed. Mods should definitely be forced to show edit-by tags when modifying other people's posts. It may be amusing for some, but others do not like having words put in their mouths without notice.

Malaysian airplane shot down, almost 300 dead
<Witty Name> replied to Razputin's topic in Current Events, News & Politics
It's only speculated to have been shot down; there's been no confirmation yet. Regradless, very tragic. I doubt this will do much to improve the region's stability, unfortunately. Although I feel that Israel's being a dick right now, this's still pretty far into conspiracy theory territory. -
You don't have to lie, corvette. It's okay.

Here we have a wild In-Joke in its natural habitat. Payday 2 is basically Left 4 Dead for anarchists, if you've ever heard of it. One mission involves cooking meth with a mixture of the following ingredients: Hydrogen chloride Muriatic acid Caustic soda These are HCl, HCl, and NaOH, respectively. This is where science steps in. HCl + NaOH ---> H2O + NaCl + heat You cook very potent saltwater.

I'm studying chemistry and computer science, so apparently that means I can type quickly to bypass security systems and cook meth. In all seriousness, though, I'm a chronic computer geek and novice chemist, so I tend to dispense science frequently.

How does this work?

As others have said, the gigantic walls of copy pasted questions (many of which aren't even valid questions in their own right) completely snuff out interesting content. I'd like to see a reduction in those next time around.

>Physics based game >Gel you fire does not inherit your momentum absolutely disgusting Or maybe it's just insufficiently powerful for the running segments. Can't tell from the reviews.

Hello! Welcome to the forums where the people talk about the things.

I've written RTS AI before, so it wouldn't be terribly hard for me.

The server is back online.

Power failure. Should be back up in an hour or so.

Hello friend, I am an esteemed Nigerian banker and I require your assistance in moving $75 million US Dollars from an account...

I'd be interested in an AI writing competition at some point. It looks pretty simple to do and would offer a lot of room for creativity, although I'll need to explore just how flexible the current API is. ...This does assume that you can have multiple AI files loaded at once, though.

I've moved the server, which immediately picked up the wireless instead of faffing about for 45 seconds. I'll see if this has improved things or not.
-
I've been experiencing incredibly obnoxious network latency, even when working entirely on LAN. I think the signal strength of the wireless is to blame. I'm going to try moving the server closer to the router. That should clear up the frequent 10-second-long bursts of lag. If it persists, however, I'll just lug the thing downstairs and jack it directly into the router. Sorry for the inconvenience, guys.

I read /vg/, /g/, and /sci/ from time to time. Other than that, though, I don't visit too many forums nowadays.

Pretty nifty, although the AI is hilariously broken (sends one worker at a time at me) and the workers hit surprisingly hard.

Comcast is being a butt. Had to reset the modem; I think our internet connection is stable again.
