I suggest making the logo an animated gif with .1 seconds of Spiderman followed by 60 seconds of normal.

I'd imagine the issue was that Steam couldn't get the specifications of your graphics card for some reason. Might be some glitch with Macs, although I can imagine the same thing could easily happen on a PC. Hurr durr Mac there's your problem
