There is such a thing as a no-win scenario. I don't know about your schools, but where I'm from, you get thrown into suspension or worse if you're carrying a knife or anything remotely dangerous (an elementary school kid was once suspended for carrying a combination fork-spoon-knife he got from the Cub Scouts).
