I'd suggest GIMP as a reasonable substitute for Photoshop. It has a lot of neat plugins (Intelligent fill: We had it first, cussers).Also, if you want basic sound editing, try WavePad. It's very nice for a free version, although I don't know if you'd call it freeware.

Alright. I'll kind of need to find a monitor first since I don't know where the old CRT one is and I'm using my old LCD screen as a second monitor for my main computer. Once I get that worked out I'll give it a shot.

I'm thinking I just might be able to host a small server from time to time. I have a decent connection (15 Mbits down, 3.5Mbits up), although it's a wireless one. I have an old computer with a single-core 3.4gHz processor and roughly 1 GB of RAM running Windows XP. I could clean it up a bit and host a server from there, assuming I can get the proper port forwarding done.I also might just reformat the hard drive and slap Ubuntu on or something.Think it might work?
