I was intending to, since I made the Steam group. EDIT: Apparently, pressing the big red Update button is low on Valve's priority today. God forbid they have fans outside of the US who have to, you know, sleep. Lazy pricks. If I'm offline, someone just make the damn thing or whatever. EDIT EDIT: Guy says it's best to leave it for me to make, with the Steam group and all. Would seem best to let me handle the guild (I can get the logos done, assign roles without bias, etc.) but obviously, I can't stop anyone from making it before I can. Guy is recommending that we leave the guild unmade and I'll do it first thing tomorrow morning (or tonight, if Valve gets a move on). Take that as you will.

I'm typically optimistic about changes in my favorite things, but... Yeah, I think we have officially jumped the shark. I'm not upset about Jon leaving to work on his own projects - that's a commendable attitude, and something that his fans have wanted for a while - but I'm not sure why I'm subscribed to the Game Grumps when I'm getting... this instead. I mean, man, I'm more excited to see Equestria Girls than another episode of the grumps now. That sucks.

Polygon had an interview with Sakurai about how he chooses who goes in and who goes out of Smash Brothers. It's a pretty decent read, and it's nice to see him take this sort of thing seriously, as opposed to throwing darts at pieces of paper or bending over to every fan request. Shut up kids, Naruto isn't going to be in it. It also suggests that he had to lay off some characters for this one. That's a shame, but I suppose too many cooks can spoil a delicious fisticuffs-filled broth. I just hope my old pal Mr. G n' W isn't taken out. I love him most dearly.

I went to Smashboards today. I regret that decision. Lots of people crying about how Villager and Wii Fit Trainer got in while Obscure Japanese RPG Side Character or Geno or Another Mario Side Character or Geno or Geno or fucking Geno didn't get in. Then several threads about how Smash 4 better have L-Cancelling or Wavedashing or Animation Bumping or Technobabble in it. And then fan club threads for every goddamn thing in the game. And more crying about Wii Fit Trainer, and then a thread about how Wii Fit Trainer is evidence that Nintendo ridicules overweight gamers. I had to take a trip to Tumblr to wash my mouth out with more Villager is a Psychopath posts.

Realistically speaking, I believe Geno is still the property of Square Enix, and right now, I bet they'd love to push Lightning or Sora in there for some advertising. That's supposing that they're even open to the idea of being a third party character in this. Then again, the inclusion of Megaman from Capcom/Namco/Bandai/WhateverTheyAreNow is a good sign, given how protective they are of their stuff. I'd say Geno is possible, but unlikely, and I'd put money on Square Enix wanting to put that little squeaky-voiced key-swinging bitch in the game instead. Geno would be awesome, though. No doubt. And if Wii Fit Trainer can get in, anything's possible at this rate.
