Given the... volatile state of gender issues in gaming nowadays, I don't think they'll do this. I'd love it if they did with that tongue-in-cheek style, but I feel a lot of people wouldn't get the joke and read too deeply into it as a satire of feminism and an offensive statement or something really stupid like that. Can I just say that I love you so much?

I've been playing this blind and somehow still managed to keep my sanity and enjoy it. I'm currently at Blighttown. I praise the sun so fucking hard now.

Is it just me or does the game come across as a lot more mean-spirited than the other one? I mean, I understand a bit of banter when you make a dumb play, but even ordinary actions like folding when you have a 2 and a 7 are deemed worthy for GLaDOS to drop down and call you an idiot. When you decide to fold, the characters will usually call you out for being a total unmanly notman cowardgirl, and then proceed to fold as well. In the same regard, Claptrap called me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥bag for re-raising him, and then he re-raised me. The characters aren't exactly saints, but even Brock and Sam stoop to being assholes every now and then, like saying "lol u shuld get beter cards" when they won on a Pair of Fours. I've played poker in real life - I even have a poker set in this fancy silver suitcase thing - and anyone who did that at my games got a glare across the table and probably a kick in the shins. I dunno, I think these were flaws with the first one as well, but it was a lot less noticeable back then, mostly because the characters seemed a bit more genuine. Strong Bad was always challenging you for your testicular pride, but that's his joke as a character (being a total Nepoleon) and it was cute. Heavy was sometimes scathing, but overall he was very level headed and even had some sweet lines for when you did well. Max and Tycho were never as venomous as anyone in this game (except Ash, but he just fades into the background with his magnificent amounts of personality). It just bugs me.

Too Mary Sue for my tastes. I miss Amy.

I'm checking into how much a plane ride to America, travel insurance and spending money will cost. I've never booked my own holiday before, but I think I have the money and I'm aiming to go there myself. Not easy, being a Briton, but hey.
