Shrapnel is the closest thing to an escape mechanism. You spray it on a spot when you're being chased and it might slow the enemy down enough for a getaway. It's also good for harassment as you spray it near the creeps or heroes and they'll have to move, giving you more lane control.I always skill it last at any rate.

Seriously though, it's not bad. If someone didn't tell me that it was about Monday Night Combat, then I would have thought of it as an original dystopian short. The mood, and its whiplash, is set very early and done well, and there's enough action and mystery in the paragraphs to make me interested in the next chapter. Plus, as Grobag said, it is simply well written. Better than me. :x Hooooooowever, as a fellow fanfic writer, my biggest piece of advice is to keep in mind what the story is based on and how faithful you are to it. To be honest, I think you should adapt this to an original story rather than an MNC fanfic. Either you stay with your current mood, which will make it hardly related to the original source, or you stay more faithful to it, which will cause some juxtaposition when the reader remembers that MNC has a talking gorilla in a spacesuit. Just my two cents, of course.
