    Magic The Gathering (TCG)

Yeah...and this really isn't going to help the price of shocks either. I can see them skyrocketing now that we know that there isn't a better alternative for dual lands. So in other news, one of the neighboring houses in my program (there's 6 houses in the city that have students in them) found an old Planechase deck in their house. It's the R/G one, and I've already decided to steal it because none of them play it. Already got the Thromok the Insatiable from it, lol.

So they announced the new rare land cycle...and it's not Nimbus Maze. Instead, we get... Guildgates with Scry 1 attached to them! Everyone liked guildgates, right? ...Right? Honestly though, I know Scry's a cool mechanic, and it's helped me out a LOT in the past with one of my casual decks. But slapping it on a common land shouldn't be your solution for this rare cycle...

Greater Midas Heat Beam. Basically a fire laser.

Or alternatively, download Midas Magic and get an ACTUAL Meteor Shower spell. Which is incredibly satisfying, because you can go into melee range, fire a barrage straight up, and then about 5 seconds later everyone in the general area just gets wrecked by flaming rocks.

Reverse Doom Blade. Me likey. Also, I wanna use that planeswalker in a deck with Nightveil Specter. "That's a very nice deck you have there, mind if I try it out?"

I do believe that with this new guy and Young Pyromancer, U/R beatdown can totally be a thing:

Moar cards spoiled today, here's my personal favorite from today: I can see him being used in EDH a lot, especially with the 'mana of any color' clause. I can also see it being used to shut down scry decks as well. Really can't wait to actually just start playing, this is going to be epic.

Ok, Thoughtseize was officially spoiled at PAX today. It's a rare. And I do think I've found one of my new wincons in my Rakdos deck. Say hello to my little friend: Sorry Master of Cruelties...we've had a good run, but this guy's WAY easier to set up. I hope you understand.

Ok, real talk? The Steam Rolled series of Mario Party was one of the best they've done. Barry's actually conversational (and really damn funny), Suzy's sweet as hell, Arin's obviously enjoying himself, and Ross is being an idiot as usual. And dat ending...it was great. Watch it if you haven't already, I really hope they do stuff like this again with Suzy. She's great.

Holy fuck. It's not as drastic on tcgplayer, but it's definitely going down there as well. Has it been officially spoiled yet, actually?

Legacy Lords sounds fantastic, but aren't like...half of the Legacy staples on Wizards' "Do not print ever again" list? Also, they released two spoilers today at PAX: Gift of Immortality looks crazy, especially if you put it on something like Voice of Resurgence. You can just keep bringing it back turn after turn and rake in the tokens.

I think we all know it's going to be mythic, yeah. But there's that part of me that wants them to print it at a common just so that collectors everywhere will just shit themselves and try to sell before the bubble bursts completely.

    Magic The Gathering (TCG)

Seems to me that the community's kind of split on what the rarity's gonna be as well. Wizards has said multiple times that printing it as a Rare was a mistake. So half the community says it's gonna be uncommon, and the other half is saying it's gonna be mythic.

I'm actually really happy about this-it means I can turn my Pomson #71 into a strange. The number stays if you strangify it, I believe.

Shit, so when Thassa was spoiled on MTGsalvation the other day it was legit. And I'm relatively sure that the guy who spoiled that is the same guy who said that the dual lands here were gonna be based on this: http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=136045&type=card I'm so pumped for this cycle, you have no idea. Devotion is a brilliant idea, and it's the PERFECT way to break the 2 and 3 color decks that RtR was famous for. Which is exactly what MaRo said they were aiming for.

Saints Row IV (Spoiler tags, please!)

The first thing you gotta know about this game is that it's easy. Like...ridiculously easy. You get super powers within the first half hour if you beeline for it (which isn't hard at all) and once you do, most fights can be solved with your sprint key and a baseball bat. That being said, this is one of the most fun games I've played in a VERY long time. It's like Cube said-the story sucks (although it definitely has its moments-I genuinely didn't see the end of Act 1 coming) but you won't care because it's so much fun to have superpowers. It really is just fun as hell. Just a few more stray observations: -You can import your SR3 character to the game, it's fairly simple. Just upload it to the internets by going into an Image as Designed in 3, then you can play as him/her/it after you download it to 4. I really liked my character in 3 and I was pretty happy that I got to play with him again without having to tediously remake him. -Besides superpowers, weapon skins are the best part of the game. Mostly because almost all of them are ripped from famous sci-fi shows and books, sound effects and all. You got your lightsabers, phasers, Jawa blasters, pulse rifles...it's all there and it's FANTASTIC. -Upgrading your powers is relatively easy. Just pick up "clusters" on rooftops and stuff. I recommend beelining to the "glide" upgrades, because that significantly increases your mobility. Just climb a building, jump off and glide to the next one. I scarcely use my super sprint because gliding (if you do it right) is just way easier. So in conclusion, I really recommend this game. It's not perfect, but it isn't trying to be. It's just fun, plain and simple. Whether you're some sort of unholy transgender...THING who revels in shoving a tentacle bat up every butthole s/he can find, or if you want to roleplay as naked Batman, it's just funny as fuck. Go buy this game.

    Magic The Gathering (TCG)

Sorry for the double post, but I'm just too damn excited-I bought 2 Return to Ravnica and 2 Gatecrash boosters today. Pulled a Rakdos's Return, Steam Vents, Nightveil Specter (one of my favorite cards) and a FOIL BREEDING POOL. Just...this is why I keep buying boosters. Because I'm one of the few people who can actually make a freaking profit off of them.

I freaking love Crypt Incursion, if you cast it mid to late-game you'll be getting around 30 life per cast. It's absolutely brutal in multiplayer, one time I was being ganged up on by 3 of my friends and was down to 2 life. Cue me dropping 3 in one turn and getting 81 life because one guy was running a red weenie deck. ♥♥♥♥ing. Glorious. It's a shame the deck I was using was absolute shit-it was a standard Golgari deck that eventually managed to get milled out. Also, that awkward moment when you're talking with your friends and realize that none of them run decks with shocklands, and that your $10 pauper mono-green infect deck could probably be the most competitive deck in your playgroup now. It's going to be a nasty shock (no pun intended) when I get back to play with them in January.
  22. You'd think, but someone on Reddit pegged the total cost at something like $750k.
