Personally, I find these hats pointless. What's the point of having a hat for a day, only to lose it? If they were keepable and tradable, Valve would easily make more money off of them as trading fodder. Back when my PC was busted, I played Battlefield Heroes a lot on my laptop. This was back before it went completely Pay2Win. Even with it in its bad state, you could probably still have a lot of fun with it for a while.

Reading through the bigger rage thread on SPUF, they bring up a lot of ethical problems with these hats in general. Valve seems to be encouraging some very bad behavior in people with these hats.I personally like the cigarette company analogy. They sell a harmful product, but you don't blame them for someone dumb enough to smoke themselves to death. People have personal reasonability. On the other hand, the product is addictive, one psychologically and the other physically. Though I doubt Valve is exploiting depressed people like some people are saying.Personally, I think for a couple of months there will be a big competition to get the hats. Then it will die off, and people will just stop caring about them all together.I also like this quote from Ned_ballad. I love how they're getting people to buy more stamps. Most people just bought one stamp to get the hat, and forgot about them all together. Map makers deserve money for their hard work, and this was an actual good way of doing that. The map makers get 100% of the stamp money, so it's not like Valve gets anything out of this.

Hate to break it to you, but marriage has been around long before the Christian church. You can go and get married in a court house if you wanted to. Ship Captains have the ability to marry people if you're out to sea. The state is also the one who hands out marriage licenses.
