On SAO, it's basically Twilight for weeaboos. Mary Sue blank slate main character, attractive opposite sex that all wants to bang them, tons of gender role reinforcement (Even when Asuna saves the day, she needs to be saved by Kirito), rabid fan base, not understanding how it's universe should work and just feeling like a bad fanfic, etc. At least Twilight didn't have rape, underage, or incest fan service. That's just how Japan is though. The worst part of SAO is how strongly it started, and how quickly it went shit and wasted its premise. The first 3 or so episodes are really great, but then it's like a nose dive in quality almost instantly. I would have preferred it sucked the whole time instead, so at least it didn't get your hopes up. My ultimate guilty pleasure anime is Zatch Bell. It may not be bad, but it'd feel awkward if someone saw me watching it.
