Huh. I saw it before in that "post your desktop" thread (Or was that a derailment?), and googled it because it caught my interest. I only gave it a passing glance then, but I'll take a better look now, and see if that demo is interesting.

Ever play Cave Story? There is a family - the Littles - that are involved in a late-game side quest. They're little, as you can see. Try basing the protagonist around this idea? A little man in a big world? Maybe he's pulled out of his little universe by whatever force and must find his way back home?

If we could somehow get our hands on a free-gravcycle server, we NEED to do this.

My favorite weapons were the Xuanlong Assault Rifle and the Shiskebob. Xuanlong already had the highest DPS of any small guns, and Shishkebob was literally the strongest melee weapon if you had Pyromaniac. I just came upon them during regular gameplay, found the Vault Wiki, and looked them up and knew they were keepers.But with Mothership Zeta, the unique arm cannon laser-grenade-launcher thing quickly rose up to match my Xuanlong and Shishkebob.

I will be honest when I say I'm such a bad Tribes player that I don't really know what map Arx is. I had to google it just now.Let that be a testament to how bad my mortar placement can be.

Mortar spam doesn't always work out for me. People I play against manage to pay enough attention to the mortars that they end up zooming past the blast radius.And my own shitty skill doesn't help too much either.

Right, so, something like a scout pistol or minigun or what have you. Damage starts off at a pitiful 5, and gets 5 more damage each shot. If you land 6 shots, you've done 105 damage. 7 shots is 140 damage, enough to kill all the piddly wimpy mercs.The idea here is that you have to hide behind cover for, say, 2-3 seconds for the damage-stack debuff to reset. Then it's back to fighting the peashooter.I'm not sure what role this serves, though.

The inverse of this would be interesting. Damage increases as you continue shooting, like Ursa's Fury Swipes with with guns instead of claws.That actually gives me an idea, but I'd imagine it wouldn't fit in this thread.

A spinfusor.No, seriously, uh, How's about a flechettegun? Basically, a shotgun that fires nails instead of pellets. They'll pierce enemies so you can, say, shoot the medic hiding behind the heavy. Just reuse the Machina's piercing ability.As for the cons, -3 pellets. That's about -33% damage, and also makes less strain on the engine trying to figure out all those hitscans.Or maybe another con/replacement con could be slower firing rate, so you really have to line them up.I'm thinking this weapon gives Scout less focus on picking a single target, but can now sacrifice induvidual damage for a more crowd-control, being able to damage an entire crowd. It also allows a smart scout to nab a Medic that's hiding behind a Heavy meatsheild.I don't think they should pierce buildings, though. Ian and Janobi. This... actually could work.Maybe 30/40 damage and you simply don't use a round.Around 80 damage and you actually gain a round.

PRAISE THE LORD I think IceFrog has the final say on balance changes. All the Dota 2 stats should be the same as DotA's stats, to the dot, IIRC.

Mine is somewhere between Tank, Karl, and Combat Girl.Tank because he's friggin OP at close ranges, and I'm good at manuvering him, as well as rushing turrets without abandon.Karl because I love the burst of mobility his Prop Hop gives. It's a free ticket to the Jungle, a free get-out-of-this-guy's-crosshair, and the knockback makes it a really good crowd control tool.Combat Girl because she's annoying no matter where you are, especially with Kitty spam. What I like doing to unaware enemies is drop down a Fortified Kitty right behind them and grapple them. The kitty fires away, and my grapple keeps them standing perfectly still until I've ripped ~800 health out of the poor sod.
