So my work assignment was put on hold (the testers that wanted it no longer want it right now for reasons), so right now I have no assignment, and my mentor only has oone thing he's working on, and he said he'll look into giving me something tomorrow.   Cue me getting paid to do nothing but watch Game Grumps for 5 hours

I got my first assignment last wednesday and I'm actually making pretty good progress. My group focuses on speeding up the testing process of Guardium by automating a lot of it, so the testers dont have to do everything by hand, and they can respond to the programmers faster. My specific job - make a program that can take in some log files and figure out what changed, so someone doesn't have to manually look through them. In only ~4 days, I went from "never made a serious application in my life" to "holy shit my thingy takes in two files and figures out what's the same". Now that I have what's the same, it's easy to figure out what changed by just comparing them.     In completely unrelated news, I'm going kayaking in the 17th! Umass Boston is literally right on the bay and we have a small port. They offer free boat/kayaking to any students, lessons included.

​I was supposed to see that yesterday, but then scheduling shitdiggery with friends. With any luck, I'll see it friday.

I'm floating right on top of 3k to the point where if I so much as fart in the wrong direction, I'm down to ~2980. This also means that I can run shitty lanes and get away with them half of the time, like the most recent one where my brother randomed Zeus and I said fuck ti and supported him mid with Lich Which ended up going swimmingly because sacrifice + frost nova was more than enough to keep SF underleveled, even though I sapped half of all the experience.

The mostest poiseist fighter in all the lands I personally think everyone doing PvE should always have a Ring of Life/Soul Protection, but it kinda breaks the game if you have enough. It outright prevents you from hollowing, and you only lose the 3000 souls it costs to repair it. Buuut after having it on for a while, you stop being so cautious about playing and that kinda ruins the mood.

I've just felt like utter crap the past few days, and I think it's just sleep deprivation. I've been going to bed at midnight and waking up at 6:30. I constantly feel nauseous, I get dizzy for a second if I move my head or eyes too quickly (or at all vertically), and of course I'm tired as fuck.   Yesterday I went to sleep at 10pm and I guess I'm just going to sleep at old-person-time for the remainder of the summer?

I personally thought Dragonslayer was pretty tough, especially since the nearby Old Dragonrider is literally the easiest boss in the game if you stick to his back.

It's clear the devs had no fucking idea what was going on, but they needed to pump something out before Bloodborne's release. The heide knights were supposed to be crazy scary minibosses that you'd only challenge if you were greedy and wanted their unique weaponry. And then of course the fucking dragon, which are outrageously important in Dark Souls lore, and they're gonna slap one in the second level? Either they just wanted even more artificial difficulty, or they REALLY did not want people to join the Blue Sentinels until they were really strong.

Even for a rough draft, these are absolutely amazing!
