A lot of the original LoZ was the spirit of adventure. Mechanics are simple, and you don't have the best idea of where everything is, so that (attempts to) encourage exploration.   It seems backward nowadays, but a few years ago, everyone hated the whole "THIS GAME IS HOLDING MY HAND WITH ALL THESE TUTORIALS" so this is like the antithesis of that?

Ehh, that's a bad argument imo. Of course all the Halo games are going to be "man in power armor shoots bad people in singleplayer and men in power armor shoot each other in multiplayer".
