Everything went horribly wrong when our CM decided he wanted my Bounty, so I had to pick CM, and then our captain went Lifestealer instead of the Silencer we agreed on...   As for everything else, I really don't know where we went wrong. We got a good first and second blood in safelane, but then ET starting wrecking face.

You have no idea how long my brother's been waiting for Legion Commander. He said the single only reason he plays League (every single day) is because Dota doesn't have LC just yet.   I want want me some delicious Bane + LC lane combos. Nightmare + Enfeeble a sap, Fiend's Grip the other, let LC casually walk right up to the Nightmared+Enfeebled enemy for the easiest Duel ever.

Yep, Quick Guard now blocks Prankster moves, and can be used repeatedly without upping the chance of failure.

This happened the first (and only) time I got to the second-last teleporter. I was too hasty with using the teleporter. I only survived because Commando's piercing shots are a godsend.

As if by unholy scarf golem magic, Valve has answered our questions by adding Ranked Matchmaking.   It works like League. After about 150 games, you're allowed into Ranked. This will have a seperate skill ranking than normal games, and the first 10 games are Qualifiers, meant to figure out where you are on the skill spectrum.     Valve also made their skill ranking algorithms a bit more transparent.

Without a detailed understanding how how exactly League/Dota have implemented their ranking system (fat fucking chance), all we can do is speculate and hope they have some tweaks to fit the 9 other people in your game.

The problem is that it's really hard to have individual ranking in a game that is entirely team based. Elo worked perfectly for Chess because each player depended entirely on their own knowledge and skill, but this is not the case a dota-like.   That being said, I do want some sort of progression. Doesn't have to be a ranking system, but just watching my Battle Points level grow is not really interesting.
