Well, its pretty simple. The Standard Time Travel is based around creating new doomed timelines for some purpose (See: Every other alternate timeline Dave dies/is used as cannon fodder) John's glitch time travel is based around randomly teleporting to random panels/ALPHA alpha timeline and actually changing stuff without creating a doomed timeline, which could ♥♥♥♥ everything up.
