Did you tried safety mode? Or maybe find one of these external HDD cases and put it inside. I think its happening the same it happened with me, your HDD is dying and will stop working soon.

Remember when they changed all instances of 'No random crits' to '-25% damage', even after the HUGE negative feedback they had from the beta? Or the Hatless Update (That actually added a hat) made it unplayable to almost everyone, taking months to fix everything they messed up? I cant wait to see where this is going.
