I think it all started once they wanted a take a bite from Steam market and they just went mad. Or maybe when they saw that people will buy overpriced stuff with cut-content-from-base-game-to-make-DLC-later as long its fun for them. Mass Effect 3 is a good game, until the last 5 minutes. Yes, some people got upset when the 'All your choices matter' was dumbed down to 'War Assets', but the game was good.

I really, REALLY wonder what they were thinking. The Sims 3, while seriously overpriced, was a good game, where you at least can play offline. Its over $60, insane amounts of DRM, cant store local saves, cant play offline, Origin only, smaller cities, other cities affect yours, there is already plans for a store and DLC packs and you cant even destroy your city on purpose. All this for profit? To stop pirates (Which wont do much once they figure out how to unlock it's secrets)? Hell, Maxis needs to break free, Double Fine did it, so I think they can too. IF my characters are saved on the Steam Cloud, I have one doing the Armory DLC on the first run.

I have to say, I'm impressed with EA capability to pick good games and shit all over it for profit. Insane DRM, microtransactions, extensive and overpriced DLC... Poor Maxis.

Maybe I just mashed the dance button more, because after World 2 I stopped skipping the checkpoints or I would go crazy.
