They are kinda worth it now, if you can manage going with one less heart on that floor. You can find items from the Devil's Room, teleports to the Angel room, spirit hearts, free pills, free items... You can also find nothing but Troll bombs and spiders too, but outside the Womb, the Curse Room is always welcome. Unless you playing as Judas. ♥♥♥♥ing Judas. The Bomberman on steroids? Lets say he is the most hated mini-boss of the game for a reason. Other than Super Greed.
