Why the 'Show this post was edited' option was removed

I dont even need to read the discussions to know that a lot of people fried their GPUs with that.

Top kek. I guess they noticed you cant earn a living with two greedy companies hogging 75% of the profits.
-
Okay, more people need to see these. They are even making a Kickstarter to start a show of these.

Skyrim lost 10% of review rating in 3 days, getting about 15000 negative reviews. And its still going, its like watching a stock market crash.

Yes and no. I dont consider myself 'adult', but I understand about paying taxes and supporting your family, my dad had to deal with his morals a lot of times on his job (lawyer). Still, if he needs to support his family, I dont think he will get much by whoring to Valve/Beth for a few dollars IF the actually sells $400 worth of mods. If he did had time to support his hobby, I dont think he will have time to get back on that to get those pennies.
-
Of course Robin would say something like that, they are the ones getting more than the actual modders for hosting the files. And what a fucking joke that was, 'turning the hobbies into something serious' by paying them 25%? Even the Apple store pays a bigger share than that. And also he goes and compares it to TF2/Dota/CS items. No, you fucking cunt, making virtual hats and modding a game are two completely different things. THIS makes me mad. He couldnt update it anymore, has a job and all that to take care, yeah I get it, but Valve throws him some bread crumbs and SUDDENLY he found all the time of the world to do it! Do you mean to tell me he will give up on a stable job to whore himself to Valve/Beth like that? He can eat a bag of dicks and choke on it for all I care.

About 4 people repping his every post on the Magical Starburst thread on the Forum Games. -
I know I look like I'm going 'THE END IS NEAR', but you just have to look around the modding forums. People are hiding their mods out of fear, some mods are being taken from Nexus and being uploaded on Steam with pay walls, some mods that werent updated for several months and suddenly the modder has refound his passion to mod again! SkyUI, one of the most used mods on Skyrim, wasnt updated for months, and suddenly the modders reappear to say that 3.0 will happen soon, FOR A PRICE ON STEAM, and then they put it like it is the best thing that could ever happen to it and one of the modders just being the biggest smartass that I've ever seen. For fucks sake, Skyrim has lost about 5% on positive reviews on Steam, thats around 5000 reviews! The first page is full of negative reviews now (with around 3000 upvotes on each), the game may be good, but that shows the ripples. I dont know about now, but mods could remove Steam reviews before. But as you noticed, one thing I really hate are dumb company decisions based on greed, followed by massive damage control, so I'll keep following this with SIMMERING RAGE and disapointment. Bonus - The guy that made the 'Remove all Imperials' mod got community banned. I'd say it was because of this nick, but I doubt it.

I would believe this if they didnt take 75% of the modder like it is a fair share, for doing 5% of the work (tools and hosting) But yeah, Gabe is just one guy and I know about the Steam support/community mods enough to know most of them are terrible fuckwads, even EA/Origin support is a hundred times better than Steam's. Still, he expected the backlash, I know he did, he fucking worked with mods for years, Steam was created as a DRM for mods. Although, its too late now. The damage is already done and even if Valve does a massive backpedalling, removes this and writes a apology letter to modders and users, I dont think stuff will change. A lot of modders changed, some removed mods so people wont steal them, some removed their mods to put them as paid mods on the workshop, some that stopped updating their mods are suddenly back with new versions on the workshop, some are even changing stuff on their old free mods so people have to purchase the paid ones (!), the guy that mades Midas Magic actually put FUCKING POPUP ADS (!!!!) if you use the free mod, people are even supporting mod piracy, something I'd call you crazy if you said 2 days ago. The sense of community is gone and now a lot of people are just watching their own backs so they dont get backstabbed, or jumping to backstab the people that supported them until now.
-
Gabe is there just for last resort damage control. And its not working that well, since he is dodging almost every single question and not talking about the important parts like why in the name of FUCK they decided to do this or the modding community starting to fall apart due to people hiding their mods/stealing mods/removing their free mods to put it on paid workshop. He said that 'censoring is stupid', but I'm pretty sure almost all discussions on the paid mods are gone, along with several people community banned and had all their posts (even screenshot and profile ones) erased from Steam
-
Looking at Gabe posts, he is avoiding pretty much every question people are asking him.
-
A bit too late on that, since they already blocked dozens of discussions, comment sections, hidden rating, banned users from community, removed links and all that.

One thing is making hats and skins, other is changing how a game works. If I did a mod that added more content than a paid DLC, but still got the same share as someone that did a new pair of shoes, I'd be pissed. I kinda feel sorry for the modder that commited virtual seppuku, but I feel he deserved at the same time. I mean holy shit what a mess he got into. Aside agreeing to something that half of the PC community would skin him alive, he goes and puts on the page that the mod is EARLY ACCESS and that the price WILL INCREASE with later versions! To keep the train going, his mod used animations from other mod, but since 'Valve said' that if the other mod he was using the animations from was free, then it was allowed, but turns out the modders of that other mod didnt wanted that! Then oh wow, the nightmare began right there. He cant remove the mod from the workshop, unless Valve is legally told to do so, basically Valve now owns his mod and he cant do shit beside keep it hidden from others that didnt bought it (poor 100 retarted users that actually bought it and wont be able to use it). Also, he will never get the money from the people that bought it, because it didnt reach the $400 mark! Then of course, he will get the fame of thief and fucking disgrace of the modding community from agreeing to this shit, aside from the avalanche of messages he must have gotten from people upset/disapointed/American Kirby Angry. Yes, Valve and BethSoft are the rotten core here, but he agreed on this. And it will get MUCH worse, since now there will be a lot of modders wanting to secure their work from being stolen and put on sale, there will be fights, accusations, shit being flinged around, stolen mods, low quality shit, overpriced shit and much more! And there will be NO MODERATION! Valve wants the USERS TO MOD THE WORKSHOP!
-
Man, its something he should have expected the backlash, really. Maybe he didnt deserve it, but should have braced for it. If you go and say 'I'll support paid mods', I'll call you insane, its something almost every PC gamer wont agree with, a lot of players are ok with donating to modders for their work, but not paying for mods. Just think if stuff like the Unoffical patches for Oblivion/Skyrim became paid mods, the modders are basically making the actual devs work and getting only 25% (or even less, there are taxes and stuff) of what they would get from a donation. Every modder on that bundle is getting shitted at. Some are even worse because they said they WONT update the free versions of their mods in favor of the paid ones (Wet & Cold and Midas Magic ones IIRC, both free versions didnt had updates for months) and some that said the mod is still on early testing (basically Early Access mods, the fishing one and a set of armor have that on the page) It doesnt helps that Valve is doing all this damage control.

But I liked collecting them on my blocked users list.
