Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)
FreshHalibut replied to FreshHalibut's topic in Digital Gaming
Spufcom Resistance update We Accidentally the Endgame Very important supply raid With a fresh stock of 'supplies' we were ready for the inevitable victory party. No sooner had we put everything away than Central popped up and said "Listen up, we gotta wreck these alien's shit" and offered up the final mission. Apparently the aliens are super butthurt about us killing their Raiden cosplayer and are planning a retaliatory strike. Their plan is to lure everyone on the planet into an incredibly obvious trap by offering free snacks, the free snacks are mandatory. Obviously, we can't let this happen, SPUFcom must hijack this radio tower and free the Earth! By telling everyone "No idiots it's a trap" and "Why did you ever trust the aliens you idiots" The Spufcom project ventures forth ready for its finest hour. -

I was wondering what that was all about.

So I got a new ISP today, and among faster internet speeds, it seems to have resolved my SFV connectivity issues. Lobbies work now, huzzah. That's really fukkin weird though that my ISP was causing GGXrd and SFV not to work though.

F4 Automatron is fun. Junkbots are fun to shoot and generic ones seem to be randomly generated using the robot mod system, which is cool. There's a few new weapons sprinkled in and a new set of armor to mess around with, plus Tesla pieces for the T-60. Story is nothing to write home about, it's basically just a pretense to go to a dungeon and shoot robits. But that was most of F4 to begin with, so it's not surprising. Shooting stuff is still fun, building sick robot companions is fun. Overall it's a solid addition. Also you can give Codsworth legs.

Thoughts on Release Version of Hitman 6. So, to put things shortly. Paris is fantastic, but it's just one level. And it banks on the fact that you'll replay it a bunch in Story and Contracts mode to find all the different interesting people to kill and ways to kill them. For the starter pack of $15 american dollars, I definitely recommend it. The first piece of content is very good, but it's just one piece of content. Just make sure your PC can run it, because whoo boy it is not optimized.

I heard Trump and Mr. T on a morning talkshow on the radio the other day. It was surreal. -
I see PoE and keep thinking Pillars of Eternity. Then I realize I'm the only one who played it.

It's the Ken mafia, they're out to get me. I'm basically free fight money at this point.

Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)

Spufcom Resistance update Sweet ass tech Armor better than wet cardboard Weapons deadlier than a rubber band gun Videogames Know the Enemy, A lesson in who's been killing you. Considering how much of the globe spufcom has liberated, I feel we may be approaching the end of our campaign to liberate earth. There are many missions ahead of us, but not much progress to be made besides deciphering the alien doohickeys. In the future, SPUFcom would like to train its first Psykers, but we don't have the facilities to do such yet because the commander probably screwed up the base building metagame really early on. For the moment, have a snap of our crew roster. And a snap of our fine heroes out to liberate more alien plot devices -

For a Fiver it's definitely worth. It's like a mix of FE (turn based tactics gameplay), JRPG (protags/characters), WW2 (overall motif), and Xcom (some shooting based rng). -

SPUFcom mini update. War Drafts In the ongoing battle for the resistance, the improved squad size left us with more wounded and less operatives to field in their place. So we've drafted a few unwilling participants! Our Recruits had this to say, -"I never signed up for this!" -"This is the worst vacation ever." -"Pleased to be here, now you said I get a free robot?" These operatives have a bright future ahead of them, whether they like it or not! Edit: We're already on our Second Rammite, GG aliens -
Thoughts on the Hitman 6 Beta. Oh my gosh it's so good, they really nailed it this time. Not even "Fun but not really Hitman" like Absolution was, the couple of levels in the beta feel like real Blood Money (Or maybe Contracts) Levels. They're both big open ended Sandboxes with a variety of options to get to and kill your target. Disguises have been reworked and actually function very well now. There are some NPCs who will see through your disguise, but it's not literally everyone like in Abs or literally nobody like in BM. It's actually a really good balance, because it forces you to think about which disguises you want for an area, besides the ones allowed to be there. Mid-level on demand saving is back and properly saves states now, which is great, because it allows you to experiment without having to redo the whole level if you mess up. Otherwise it runs on what appears to be an updated version of the Absolution engine. Cover system is back, which isn't that important anymore because disguises actually work now. But it lets you do the cool thing of hiding next to a doorway and dragging a guy out of sight to steal his pants. Inventory is back to the Old Magic Pockets. There's a finite amount of things you can carry, but dedicated inventory slots are gone. Instinct is sorta gone, the Seeing people through walls is back, but everything else about it is gone. It's more convenient than opening the map every 2 seconds to track a target. Overall, I'd say Hitman 6 is shaping up really well. The only question now is whether their episodic plan is going to pan out well for them, and if they'll be able to supply enough content by the end of it. But what I got to play so far is very, very strong. I'm really looking forward to the first content drop next month. I just hope it's not barebones.

TBH I just left everyone as the randomly-assigned nicknames. But if someone has a request, I'm more than happy to fill it in for them. -

You were stuck in medbay from the mission before unfortunately. We can't leave the good stuff laying around, SPUFcom isn't made of money! Anyway, we finally removed those boxes from the Skyranger, so now there's space for 6 operatives! Also Plasma Grenades are go! Things are going much more smoothly now that we're not trying to complete missions with four dudes in T-shirts wielding popguns. The Downside is that the SPUFcom project has been essentially broke the last couple months due to the cost of these projects. Fortunately, some of the men are about to go on a supply run, but I think we need to fire whoever names these operations. Operation Snake Suplex would have been way better than Heaving Serpent.
