Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)

Spufcom Resistance update Sweet ass tech Armor better than wet cardboard Weapons deadlier than a rubber band gun Videogames Know the Enemy, A lesson in who's been killing you. Considering how much of the globe spufcom has liberated, I feel we may be approaching the end of our campaign to liberate earth. There are many missions ahead of us, but not much progress to be made besides deciphering the alien doohickeys. In the future, SPUFcom would like to train its first Psykers, but we don't have the facilities to do such yet because the commander probably screwed up the base building metagame really early on. For the moment, have a snap of our crew roster. And a snap of our fine heroes out to liberate more alien plot devices
  2. Ive just discovered hot chocolate with peppermint sticks, it's the best. But now we're out of peppermint sticks

For a Fiver it's definitely worth. It's like a mix of FE (turn based tactics gameplay), JRPG (protags/characters), WW2 (overall motif), and Xcom (some shooting based rng).

Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)

SPUFcom mini update. War Drafts In the ongoing battle for the resistance, the improved squad size left us with more wounded and less operatives to field in their place. So we've drafted a few unwilling participants! Our Recruits had this to say, -"I never signed up for this!" -"This is the worst vacation ever." -"Pleased to be here, now you said I get a free robot?" These operatives have a bright future ahead of them, whether they like it or not! Edit: We're already on our Second Rammite, GG aliens

Thoughts on the Hitman 6 Beta. Oh my gosh it's so good, they really nailed it this time. Not even "Fun but not really Hitman" like Absolution was, the couple of levels in the beta feel like real Blood Money (Or maybe Contracts) Levels. They're both big open ended Sandboxes with a variety of options to get to and kill your target. Disguises have been reworked and actually function very well now. There are some NPCs who will see through your disguise, but it's not literally everyone like in Abs or literally nobody like in BM. It's actually a really good balance, because it forces you to think about which disguises you want for an area, besides the ones allowed to be there. Mid-level on demand saving is back and properly saves states now, which is great, because it allows you to experiment without having to redo the whole level if you mess up. Otherwise it runs on what appears to be an updated version of the Absolution engine. Cover system is back, which isn't that important anymore because disguises actually work now. But it lets you do the cool thing of hiding next to a doorway and dragging a guy out of sight to steal his pants. Inventory is back to the Old Magic Pockets. There's a finite amount of things you can carry, but dedicated inventory slots are gone. Instinct is sorta gone, the Seeing people through walls is back, but everything else about it is gone. It's more convenient than opening the map every 2 seconds to track a target. Overall, I'd say Hitman 6 is shaping up really well. The only question now is whether their episodic plan is going to pan out well for them, and if they'll be able to supply enough content by the end of it. But what I got to play so far is very, very strong. I'm really looking forward to the first content drop next month. I just hope it's not barebones.

TBH I just left everyone as the randomly-assigned nicknames. But if someone has a request, I'm more than happy to fill it in for them.

Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)

You were stuck in medbay from the mission before unfortunately. We can't leave the good stuff laying around, SPUFcom isn't made of money! Anyway, we finally removed those boxes from the Skyranger, so now there's space for 6 operatives! Also Plasma Grenades are go! Things are going much more smoothly now that we're not trying to complete missions with four dudes in T-shirts wielding popguns. The Downside is that the SPUFcom project has been essentially broke the last couple months due to the cost of these projects. Fortunately, some of the men are about to go on a supply run, but I think we need to fire whoever names these operations. Operation Snake Suplex would have been way better than Heaving Serpent.

Speaking of Hitman, The PC Beta drops tomorrow for preorders. People have said it's a good return to form after Absolution. I think Absolution's a fun game, but it's definitely more of a splinter cell game in disguise than Hitman. Disguises barely work, so you end up hiding behind boxes most of the time. Which is the opposite of Blood Money and Contracts.

Pillars's's's White March Pt. 2 came out finally. I think I might be the only one who cares. But for what it's worth, part 1 was super good, looking forward to playing Part 2.

I was planning to play mostly Gief and Birdie, then Mika came out of the woodwork and now I don't know what to think anymore.

Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)

Depends on the mission. In missions with an Evac zone, you have to bring the soldier's dead or unconscious body with you in order to keep their gear. On missions where you secure the zone by killing everything, you just have to complete the mission. As a Trade off for this, weapons and generic armor are mass produced unlike EW where you had to build them on a one by one basis. But when you go customizing them or using specialty armor, those items are lost if you leave the soldier behind. Secondary items are lost too in this case. While it can lead to big goddamn hero moments where you sling a buddy over your shoulder and haul him back to base, it's also a real problem when you lose equipment that takes awhile to build and uses rare materials. Those Star Wars DVDs Wrist Rocket design documents call for an Elerium core (Read: Rare stuff) and take like four days to build, unlike Predator armor which is Buy once, free forever. I also updated the previous post with pix of our freshly crafted borderlands guns. Because I figured at Least the Gatling Laser Mag Cannon and Gauss Rifle look cool enough to post.

Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)

Gentlemen, We did it. We've discovered the mysteries behind magnets. We've already mastered the technology on Rubberband Guns Magnetic Rifles and Pistols, Now we just need to figure out how to tape enough together to finalize our Railgun and Rail-minigun designs. We've put that project on the backburner for now though to contend with the more pressing issue of our armor being actual T-Shirts. Operation "Plan 9" Today's Episode of SPUFcom brought to you by "This is probably super dumb, but I'm posting it anyway!"

I haven't played Divinity, but I put like 100 hours into Pillars. Cursory research seems to point to Divinity having stronger combat, but a weaker world/story. While pillars has a strong world/story, but weaker combat.

Yoooooo Wolf Pack 2 boys. (Counterfeit/Undercover) Free if you got the original, otherwise 7bux. China Lake Grenade launcher hype! And if you all remember the leaks, we'll probably have the opportunity to print money before bailing out this time.

Superstar Saga is the best, but good luck trying to play it on a touchscreen. Mario Tennic GBC is really legit, it's half mario, half tennis RPG. Probably really hard on touchscreen. Warioware Mega Microgames Inc, the first one, was a lot of fun, but again touchscreen. Shoutout to Chrono Trigger if you pick up a SNES emulator. I played the whole thing on my phone no problem.

Spufcom 2 or How I learned to keep dying and restarting the mission. The Weekend of Death brought to you by "We forgot to research weapons and body armor, Have some autopsies instead!" Parallel futures brought to you by Savescum brand progression "We'll get you there, eventually, probably" It's okay, I can still lead the Spufcom project with 12 deaths on my hands, I just gotta use DETERMINATION Fortunately our researchers are hard at work on Magnets, so maybe we'll even the score soon with a fleet of Gauss Rifles. Until then, please enjoy these complimentary Thin Mints

Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)

So apparently Dressing Rynjin up like Leon the Professional gave him bonus aim or something. In other news, WE'VE FAILED MEN! Today we mourn the loss of Jordax, Moose, and Merso Oh my god, the ride back in an empty Skyranger, the sad music, the empty mission results screen, Tygan wishing he could have done more Anyway, in light of this. I will be doing my first ever clock rollback. Because holyshit new recruits are expensive to buy, I can't afford that shit. I will be replaying the mission and appending a 2 to the end of their names, so that we never forget their alternate timeline sacrifice. Also I'll make a running tally on the first post of everyone I got killed.

Spufcom 2: Resistance Boogaloo (Mission Complete!)

Resistance Boyz! The last batch of rookies execute a flawless mission, except for the part where Jordax missed the bus, but we came back for him. I'm not gonna abandon somebody who shoots aliens in the face when they panic. Highlights include, -Ayys making Jordax panic, who retaliates by moving up and shooting them in the goddamn face -Sweet flanking shots by everybody -Kay shooting a Pectoid in the ass Promotions for everybody! Should have known that Merso would be a sniper with that boonie hat of his. Jordax and Kay get robot buddies. And ICBMoose is still determined to prove we're not terrorists by wielding a bigger gun as our third Grenadier. Also, Spufcom executed a flawless Ambush for the first time! I'd make a webm, but I don't know how+they don't work here, so have a clip instead.

DLC Characters are awesome (CHARACTER ACTION TINGLE), but the adventure maps are all endgame content. So you can play them right away, but it assumes you've already beaten the old adventure map and everything is leveled as such. It really helps if you've already gotten the Level3 weapons from the Classic adventure map.
