Saw the new Godzilla flick, Fun movie.
SpoilerThe monster fights are great and the CGI is great.
Human moments are mostly dumb, but that's par for the course.
Didn't really watch any trailers so Rodan showing up was a surprise, Ghidora looked and acted great.
Villain crew was kind of unintentionally hilarious, because it feels like they're just there hanging out after the initial kidnapping.
They don't really do anything besides "Look at all the destruction, cool!" like he doesn't even threaten to stop the kid or scientist from running off.
The moment where they Nuke Godzilla was cool, but all that build up to a boiling radioactive hellhole and the dude still pops his suit off for a few minutes.
The thing is full of plot holes and dumb human moments, but there's tons of monster action sprinkled through the whole film instead of just one pop at the end.

I broke my Knee last week, this really sucks, I don't recommend it.
Slipped and fell on hardwood floors, completely random, but enough to mess me up I guess. At least I'll have a bunch of time off of work.
Catch up on my backlog of games, tv, and movies.

So the Mario Kart phone closed beta dropped today. Really fun, but it's taking the route of "gotta catch em all" because each character and kart have an edge on specific maps. So people are already justifiably worried about pay to win, because spending money reduces grind, and grinding gives you a tangible edge. Can't spend any money in the beta, but there's already drop tables and stuff being posted in the game's news channel like fire emblem.
I mean, I hecking love Mario Kart, so I'm going to be suckered in to it, but yeah it's doing phone game things. Really fun to see remakes of the old maps ported to phone though.

I guess you could always Outer Worlds on console, especially since they've said they're not releasing mod tools.
But yeah, I'm not installing *another*client to bog down my computer with even more when I already have to reign in Blizzard, Steam, and Origin.
If everyone had their way you'd have a billion little fragmented clients dragging down your computer,
-Steam
-Epic
-Gog Galaxy
-Origin
-Blizzard
-Desura
-Who knows what else
And they all want to auto update, and they all want logins, and they all want to start when you boot your PC, Plus they all fight with eachother.
I'd rather have nothing instead of having to download *another* new client.

I feel like the timegap has been just long enough for the borderlands fatigue to pass.

Hey, DMCV is really good.
Punch Line best arm.

Anyone here have PCVR experience?
Thinking about getting a Rift since I've rebuilt my compy and they've come down in price.
But apparently it needs like infinity USB 3.0 ports and I only have two of those. (I do have six total usb tho)
The Vive is supposed to be better, but it's like 200 dollars more and the controllers are debatable.
It doesn't need as many ports, but they charge a hundred bucks for a better head strap?

I like those Totaku ones, I have a Hitman and a Knight Artorias.
They're basically non-nintendo Amiibos.

I'm not a survival horror buff, but I've been playing Resi2 REmake and it's really good.
It really nails making your average zombie a threat again. They're really durable and it's tough to actually kill anything on a permanent basis. You can blow them away, but they'll get back up at complete random. Sometimes they're back up immediately and sometimes full minutes later. So even though you've "cleared" an area, it's tough to make anywhere actually safe. Largely because there's no way to tell if a zombies actually dead short of a lucky crit blowing his head off. So you're trying to balance how many hits you take with how much ammo you have to spend and there's a sense of urgency and dread any time there's a zombie in the room because you have no idea how long you have before he gets up, if he even does.
Also it's gorgeous and the whole thing is just quality and oozing with atmosphere.
Also I finished Persona 5 last week. First and only SMT game I've played, but it was a great ride. And now I'm prepared for whenever Joker releases in Smash Ultimate.

Someone save me from this subzero arctic hellzone.

IIRC I spammed remote missiles at Giga Mac. The missiles messed with his AI so he never really got in close because he was too busy freaking out over missiles.

Happy new year!
People call anything on the internet a Meme because it's become it's a lazy way of saying "Joke I found on internet"
Even though that's not what it means, neither the dictionary or internet version of the term.

I appreciate all the little nods and references in Spirits/World of Light, but probably 80% of those fights are "Throw bullshit at the player until they die"
The other 20% are "Cpu does something useless that references the original game" Like Villager exclusively flying around on balloons.Part of me is like "Of Course you have to Fight 8 Megamans for Dr. Wily's Spirit!" the other half is like "The Dr. Wily fight suuuuuucks!"

Finished Deltarune
SpoilerCouldn't beat the Bonus Boss, but got him down to probably the last couple turns.
Very interested to see where this goes, especially that end cutscene.
I was always a big fan of UT's combat system, and this improved pretty much everything.
I wish there were a few more options for armor, but hey it's a four hour game.
There's a lot of little details that I really dig though, like your party members commenting on armor and items you use on them.
Also Red Dead 2 is cool I guess.

Ate a bunch of the candy I was supposed to be handing out.
Fortunately we had very few visitors.

Couldn't you like, add a firewall rule to prevent it from accessing the update servers?
Then turn it off when you decide to update?
I did that with Skype for a time.

I have now finished all the DMC games in prep for DMC V.
Yes, even DMC2. Both Dante and Lucia's campaign.
Yes, even DmC:Donte's Edgelord Adventure. And even Vergils story DLC.
Big excite for V in March.

Quakecon Beth Stream confirms that NuDoom2 is what everyone expected/wanted a remake of Doom 2: Hell on Earth.
Looks cool, Doomguy has a Predator Shoulder Cannon and Armblade now.

Octopath is a great dense JRPG that feels like I'm playing a popup book. Most of the characters are charming and it's scratching that traditional JRPG itch.
Can also recommend,
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze for a great platformer.
Splat2 the squidkid and now octokid online shooter.
Mario XCOM (Rabbids) if you can get over the rabbids inclusion.
Hyrule Warriors for infinity leveling grind mash buttons to do cool attacks.
Bayo2 for Platinum action die a lot combat.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, featuring two Links for some reason.
Kirby Star Allies, even if it's the easiest one in the series it's Same Ol Kirby.
And a slew of indie and not-indie titles that you can have on a turbo charged Gameboy now.

Rocket Jumping is amazing and playing around with the Team's weapons is really neat.
