Yes. I'm saying it would make sense for them to at least have encryption on them. The way it is now, there's no benefit to even buying them.

Sending the archives to everybody doesn't just happen. I don't think this was a security flaw. Either Bethesda Softworks is really this fucking incompetent, or somebody on the inside wants to see it burn. Or somebody did actually forget to put any encryption on them, in which case L-O-L

Now now, are we not all shitposters during this tragedy?

Block comments on keywords you say? So I could filter out politics on meme videos? I heard of that one! -

I'll be honest, I would not even notice there was an issue. -

how do we know this website isn't just concatenating what we enter into random strings of text? ELI5 pls EDIT: I just re-read the original post. Medic mentions it. EDIT EDIT: There's some debate on the website's forum, but supporters say the text is generated in some part with your search, but the text itself is decided by an algorithm that uses variables that also appear as the page, book number, shelf, "hexagon", etc. So putting those same variables in to the algorithm would generate the same page. So that random generation would then be easily "searchable" with those same variables, and somebody flipping through the pages one by one would find the same content at the same location as someone who searches. if true, neat.

I wonder if "you should use 'www' for your web address" is controversial enough to go to the war room. -

I use that stewie voice line at least once a month. bless you bumscags. Also, I get to go carry out a mind-numbing task in a "city" up north for four days next week! I get to stay in a shitty hotel while I do it! -
Thanks for keeping up on security updates and such, tsc.

nonono, you need to eat it off the shark. Dive in to the damn ocean, find one, and tear the meat chunks off of it with your teeth. It's the only way to properly eat shark. -

As a traitor who moved to Canada in 2012, I'll probably celebrate American independence by drinking a Tim Horton's coffee, eating poutine, and watching Bob and Doug McKenzie. ...wait. -
Hardy har har, I just felt it was appropriate to stand on a soapbox here. It's pretty nice. There's a cool breeze.

Petya 2017 is not ransomware: https://securelist.com/expetrpetyanotpetya-is-a-wiper-not-ransomware/78902/. (Source: Kaspersky Labs) If you get infected DO NOT PAY YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR FILES BACK. I feel this needs to be spread everywhere, as (bizarrely enough) ransomware has gained a reputation in the past for actually giving you your files back if you pay. WannaCry did. Petya 2017 does not. Please tell your clients this. Also, a la Kaspersky and other independent sources, even though it uses EternalBlue and EternalRomance as a lateral movement mechanism, it's initial attack vector seems to be a third party Ukranian software called MeDoc. Hence, the majority of attacks (by an insane margin) are in the Ukraine and the Russian Federation. WannaCry was a global infection.
